Hitchy...great to hear from you!!

Nah mate...been training for Noosa Triathlon...now down to 92.7Kg's...some of which is muscle. The coach tells me he wants me at 88Kg's for the race (pr*ck!) In fact, 11.30, time to go for a run.

Ungh, I have Gastro. I think this is the third time I've been sick in my adult life, so I haven't taken it very well.

I attepted to come out to the office yesterday but threw up as soon as I opened the door, so I took that as a sign to go back to bed.

So....looks like I'll be down to 'race weight' in 11.80 weeks, but not the way I intended :(

Definition of PANIC...not able to decide if you need to sit or kneel at the bowl!!

Imodium helps. Keep the water up. And while you're lying down having a kip put a hot water bottle on your guts to help burn a few of the little suckers.

Thylacine 06-26-06 10:01 PM

Yeah, I had a sit-kneel dilemma yesterday. Thankfully I managed to avert disaster somehow by getting the timing just right. Wasn't pretty, but could've been a lot less pretty!

You know, I thought it was a tad cute having our lounge room as a miniature creche early on Saturday night.....little did I know it was just a breeding place not for children but for infectious diseases.

Anyone smell something burning? My kids got their visas today - airfare just burned a $3k hole in my wallet. It's a good thing I love those kids. :D

jock 06-26-06 10:24 PM

There is a gastro bug going around at the moment - and small children are hotbeds of infection, best avoided if possible. :D

Most of what you are losing at the moment is water, so as soon as you feel better and rehydrate, it will come back (not all of it but most of it). Lots of rest, clear fluids (Gastrolyte if the diarrhoea is really watery, or you are chucking heaps, coz you will be losing electrolytes and that will make you feel even worse), dry crackers, try and avoid dairy and other oily foods as well as spicy stuff for the next few days and did I mention get lots of rest.

That only works for US outgoing. Could have shared a container for 1/2 the cost, but that's a long boat ride.

62vette 06-26-06 10:40 PM

Tell them not to forget their boogie boards, or did they go in the container already :D

Skis would be better here. Or water skis. Although they could use the boogies in the snow too...

Wilchemy 06-26-06 11:32 PM

Hmmm.... I'm thinking that cuzzy bro vette was making a sly Schapelle Corby ref.....

there's a couple of sets of 2nd hand Campag-hubbed wheels at Bicycle Recycle, but I have Shimano, so I've never given them more than a passing glance. I'll check 'em tomorrow for ya.

AUS Patent No. 6077844

Thylacine 06-27-06 03:05 AM

Well, if yesterday was 'Spewsday', today is 'Stinkyfartday', which I suspect is why SWMBO is going to 'a talk'.

Did you know in Japan, because the bathrooms are so small, on their toilets they have a sink on top of the cistern? I mean, not that that helps if you have gastro unless you can rotate your head 90 degrees....

62vette 06-27-06 03:44 AM

Just ride it backwards

if you were nimble you could always sit reversed facing the cistern, could get some nasty splatter pattern on the floor/wall tho if it all goes horribly wrong.....

jock 06-27-06 05:03 AM

...anyway, today I rode my bike and it was fun.

Yep, and the heated toilet seat with auto bidet and hot air dryer is a novelty!

The good wife is currently in the US. She tells me she has received the Sidi's and Keo's I had sent to the hotel.

I miss her heaps and can't wait for her to get home...not just for the riding bling...seriously!:D
