Any thoughts??

I think you should have read the reviews before you bought them. :p

Ouch!!

Wattsy, not heard of any spoke failures from any of the tools I know that ride 'em. LBS tool rates them higher than Durace wheelset, so he's wither misguided or the Ksyriums are a good thang.

Ride 'em, enjoy 'em.

Thanks Jock. Nice to know I've been elevated to 'Tool'. :D

Wattsy, I got 'em on my bike & have no complaints. Persoanlly I don't think they roll out quite as well as the Cosmics I had previously but they are a nice wheelset.

A couple of mates ride them too and like them, although if you are a big heavy unit (and I am not saying you are) you might not want to ride on them all the time. One mate is about 90kg (at 6'4") and a strong rider (been known to snaps cranks  ) found them not quite sturdy enuff for day to day use.

Thanks for this...I'm 90+ but nowehere near strong enough to break anything. Maybe this will give me the motivation to drop down into the 80's!!

do you know the dudes over on the "Aus Bike Cafe" forum? I think it's a bit of a clique over there, and whatever you do, don't criticize critical mass :)

Agree - seems to be a bit too much "us vs the cagers" over there at times. :)

I think half of them ride together every Sunday morning, out east

.....and the whole USENET thing; gimme a break!! :p DO they think they're ARPANET purists, or something??!!

It's so impractical it's ridiculous. One day I'm gunna use the taboo words "chat room" over there, then run for cover. "Chat room?? Oh no, this is a sophisticated news and information posting service, populated by only the most articlute and educated internet users"

America - what a country! Not only can I get beer at my grocery store, but seeing as how the 4th of July is coming up, I bought fireworks today there too. Nothing like celebrating independence by blowing shyte up. :D

62vette 06-25-06 10:53 PM

Hey, here in NZ every 5th of November we celebrate some dumb ****'s attempt to blow up the British parliament by burning an effigy of him and then blowing shyte up.

Celebrate failure with cordite :D

It's not a bad loop they do actually - I've done most of it at various times I think. I might not be welcome on the actual ride though coz I'm such a non computer dude I don't even know what the hell USENET is!! :D

climbo 06-25-06 10:58 PM

I think I've got ARAPNETPHOBIA. (I'm with Wil on this one)

Are they behind this also?

jeez, where were ya? :p I had to get Hitchy on there to back me up.
I thought it was a relatively innocent comment, but I didn't know they were closet hippies/"Massers". One of them dudes was so farkin condescending........AAARGH!! I was about 2 posts aways from challenging ALL of them (with their pannier racks) for a torch-fest on Beach Rd :p

You shouldn't have any problem with the ksyriums...heaps of fat bastards (including this one!) are riding them all the time. I do tend to keep mine for race day though...too bloody stiff to ride evey day on. Hey whats this 90+ kgs?.....shouldn't it be 100- kgs?....or have you been getting out of the garage?

Only a few days until Vinekourov begins his epic quest for the yellow jersey. Will it be a futile and fruitless journey into 200km solo breakaways? Will he spoil the sprinters party again this year and take out the Champs Elise? :roflmao: Or will his new team make him just shut up and ride to team orders again like a good little Kazakstani? Will SBS cross to the first day of cricket test and show highlights because its been rain delayed just when thing are heating up in Frogland? :crash:

Go the guys whose names end in "OV"!!!! and the Aussies of course... :)

Since of my recent transition to a giant, im rootin' for the der kaiser :D

For sprinters Im going for McEwen for obvious patriotic reasons.

Anyone else gonna watch every stage. Im on uni break so I can :p

matagi 06-26-06 04:07 AM

And while we're on the subject, what is it with this critical mass thing?

Maybe we should invite them to demonstrate the principle on Peats Ridge Rd on a weekday - it would be interesting to see them try and take the lane against a fully loaded quarry truck.
