Same here.

Eyeballing it, the rails look the same length as any other saddle I own (I bought it to slidew it back a tad more, looked long in the shop).

But hey, that extra 3cm of plastic sticking out the back does heaps. When I use it, it makes my little seat pack look smaller I spose.

Thylacine 06-15-06 08:22 PM

"Does my seat pack look big in these?"

:roflmao:

Posted the same thing again. Weird.

Anyway I'll say this. Purchased the evil of most cyclists 2 weeks ago, a big 4wd. Funny thing is that last Sat morning the group rode straight past my house, Mrs, mother in law,my 2 kids were in the driveway loading up the new car. A few days later, wife is driving said car to work. Usually she will zoom past cyclists (still, after my years of teaching her & making her ride through Eastern subs traffic etc etc) anyway, she waves and lets them all through, they wave back because they notice her and the new car.

I think she finally gets it.

There's an irony in there somewhere.

Hmmm. Lounge room - sofa? yep. telly? yep. 2 bikes? yep. Daughter's room - bed? nope. bikes? yep. Next room - bed? nope. bikes? yep. Methinks I'll have to consolidate them into the 2nd lounge room when the kids arrive.

Arrive? Where are the kids at the moment Expat? Stuck in quarantine? You shouldn't have packed them in the shipping container... :p

Actually, they had their immigration interviews today. I need to fax a doc off to the consulate, and then their visas should be in the mail shortly. Can't wait to see my kids - it's been way too long.

climbo 06-15-06 10:32 PM

****, I thought they went with you Exxy, it's been a long while then.

Good work. Letus know if any get back to you. I'd do the same if I wasn't so lazy. Seems chicks coated in *** papers are the only way to get a twitch out of me. ;)

Odin 06-15-06 11:57 PM

Hey Oz, does the recycle joint have much to do with older stuff?
I want to bring my old (Tange Cro-Mo) 6-speed back to life fer commutin' duties... can't go putting lights all over the shiny bike now...
The nearest lbs just stares blankly at me when I mention 6-speed stuff.

Just go SS or fixed instead. It's what all the cool cats are doing these days. :)

yeah, about 80% of their bikes are 2nd hand, and they also have heaps of old bits. What are you after?

It's no big deal putting lights on a 'flash' bike. :) I saw a guy in a race with lights on his bike, and I saw that guy the other week commuting with lights and a mudguard (!!!) on his $7000 Scapin!!

Odin, I tried it only to find that it costs an arm and a leg to keep an old six speed properly maintained. It wasn't even worth converting it to a single speed as Wilco suggested.

Just buy a cheap roadie and donate the old crate to an organisation that puts ppl on bikes for a good cause.

Yer probably right jock, but I've been down in the lab with it this evenin' and it might not be as bad as I first thought - got the derailleurs and calipers going again.
Needs BB bearings, front wheel bearings, a chain, a tyre and a couple of cables... not a great deal to do, and there's no way Mrs Odin's gonna let me buy another bike in the forseeable future.
Ricardo may yet live again!

Was he riding on Beach Road? I'm sure I've seen him also.

BTW I had a back wheel spoke replaced by Kennedy's a few weeks back...just went and pumpede the tyres up for the early ride tomorrow and the f*ckin wheel is bent all over the place. Note to everyone, the mechanics at Kennedy has no idea of how to fix wheels!!

I have Rolphs, does anyone on the site know of a good wheel repairer in Melbourne? (preferably Bayside or City)

:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

A mate (who's not into bikes) picked up a 57cm Vetta (Columbus I think) fer sfa and won't let me get my hands on it.
He's 6'5" ferfarks sake with size 15 feet!!... bought himself a mega-long seatpost, bolted on some tri-bars and now he rides it 'round the block. :(
Horn looking bike.

My kids are staying with their nan, and their biological father (w@nker) right now. We came here with intentions of getting jobs and buying a house before they came over. Didn't want to bring them to a new country and then move them around while we tried to get settled.
