I kinda liked the way she spoke fast enough to occasionally run her words together -- the exact opposite of Kathy Freeman and Kathy Watt

It's official - Campy has out-bling'd Shimano ->

Yep.

I'd hit it.

eh, I'm still an 80s guy who likes shiny stuff :). I can't get into black components, except rims. I reckon the minor renaissance of silver rims will die off again, as will ergo bars -- there seems to be more traditional drops in this year's Tour

Thylacine 07-05-06 01:22 AM

Now, what would the the point in painting carbon silver? ;)

HAnds up if you hate that campag BB design? :: holds up hand:: talk about adding complexity to somthing for no apparaent reason...

Thylacine 07-05-06 02:53 AM

This Line of Conversation is Useless Without Pix.

:D

I googled 'Google VP' and got some fat w@nker. I'm assuming that's not her?

----

Hang on HDT....how is the Campy BB any more complicated than an ISIS or Square taper? It's just different is all. No more complicated than what we already have. Not that we need another new standard mind you, but that's what big companies do to protect their sandpit.

I feel sorry for people who bought 2005-6 XTR cranks. The BCD is 1mm different from XT and the new 07 XTR.

Not THAT'S gotta p¡ss you off!

----

Existance - Apparently it costs a million bucks to deck out a TdF team with bikes. Anybody know any bankers? Actually, I'll put my money on either Avanti or "Teshleggera" to be the first to sponsor an Aussie team. Not sure if it will happen though, as you'd need to find some company wanting to do a big push into the Euro market with their products/services.

Naturally I'd love nothing more than to have Team Cascade-Thylacine in the mix, kickin' ass and handing out free beers, but let's just say that may take a few years

Of course I've already designed the team bikes and jerseys :o

I thought Avanti is NZ?
Well the first result for avanti in google is a NZ website

Can you explain to this numb-nut?
I got 2004 XTR rear, XT front, XT cranks and was about to spring for some new 2006 XTR cranks...whats the problem?

How many crownies do you reckon a domestique could fit in his jersey?

Thylacine 07-05-06 03:38 AM

Crownies? Wouldn't throw one over myself if I was on fire.

2006 XTR is great. Only issue is, if you wear your chainrings out, there's no alternatives except Shimano, and the 2007 rings aren't compatible with the 2006 cranks. AFAIK.

ps: I found the Google VP. She looks like a hausfrau. You guys are slipping!

yeah, I'm surpised we didn't get the old "some 'dude' on a skateboard rolls by nonchalantly" cliche.

How about the guy with the sand, deck chair, umbrella and thongs in his "office"!!

HDTVKSS 07-05-06 05:39 AM

Pshaw, wait for the new XTR cranks, they can use STD shimano XT rings instead of the uber expensive and v soft ( a ride in the mud and there finished) XTR ones.

the new XTR rings look interesting with the integrated carbon. not totaly sold on the derailer asthetics with the big X , they also look kinda like SRAM now. i do like the simplification of the dual control lever as
