Taking the trading to PMs please.

waltergodefroot 01-24-06 07:24 PM

I've got some trimmed and riveted christophe toestraps...slightly soiled, but good for your phelan-esque girlfriend to use as ankle bracelets for that "i'm a dirty french roadie" look. Work best when worn with a harlequin wool riding cap. :p (Dont ask how I got them out of the pedals without ripping out the rivet. :o )

Thylo's stickers look like they're off a BMX :)

jock 01-24-06 08:43 PM

Cheyne Horan, surfin superstar from days gone by. Introduced the winged keel surfboard which went on to become a raging failure. Now rides big wave contests (5m+ waves ) and does OK

climbo 01-24-06 09:01 PM

he also runs a surf school on the Goldy.

Scotty, you need this...

mrkott3r 01-24-06 11:26 PM

ok back to a little bit of cycling. I went back to visit frenchy (Maurice) and my wheel still isn't finished. I bought a set of new cones for a front wheel, but the axle is for a rear wheel, so Maurice (in his infinite wisdom?) gave me cones for a rear wheel. And wouldnt sell me an axle/cones/bearings for a front wheel. Now this is where I couldnt understand him anymore, is there any benefits in doing this? Or is it all negative?

Are you some kind of Masochist mrkott3r? :p :)

The language barrier is surmountable. Just tell him to ferque ouf (French for go away).

Brian 01-24-06 11:37 PM

That'll teach him. I sent him there for a wheel. Point to the one hanging up, and take out your wallet. He wants to chat, so he's going to take 2 months to fix your wheel. Be glad you're not American, as he'll eventually forget about cycling, and move on to politics.

Chorus monoplaner brakes?

not sure if they're Chorus or Record or what. They cost me $150 in about 1993!!! Obviously single pivot, and REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, crap!! I've got 3 other pairs that I bought 2nd hand, and they are EVEN CRAPPER!!

When I change from my Dura-Ace bikes to this one, it takes me about 10km to get used to how hard I have to hit the brakes.

HEY. My ears were burning so I thought I better check out the Aussie thread!

I'm just as happy as any of you to look at arty pictures of women but someone always has to spoil it. To quote one of my old favorite Australian magazines, "Some of that stuff was a bit stupid realy!" :D

Anyone know which magazine's cartoon character that quote came from?

Regards, Anthony

Does one caliper arm go through the other? A bloke I know got some in like 1987. I remember drooling on his brakes as they were the latest thing. My poofy white Modolo 'Team' brakes were probably better at the time, which doesn't say much for the Chorus ones!

Chorus was originally the third tier group. I think Campag then got rid of Croce D'Aune, Chorus was souped up with Dual pivot brakes, and those calipers then became Athena.

yeah, dude, loosen up :)

this forum is rediculously over-moderated and over-santised, and I don't know why, but I guess it's Joel Garner's forum so he can run it how ever he wants.
