You watch Big Brother ??!!

Strange mix of ANZAC afternoon entertainment - watching surfers in the ENORMOUS storm generated surf (biggest I've seen in years on the East coast) while a Mescherschmidt ME-109 does aerobatics overhead.

Guys are paddling for 20 minutes or more to get out the back for a 1-2 minute ride if they can crack the bottom turn. Then walk back up the beach to paddle back out.

Umm, is now the time to confess I am a girl and therefore interested in an entirely different sort of bazooka? ;)

oh.....I suspected you may have been, but I didn't wanna ask in case you said "no way, I'm a macho dude", and were therefore offended :)

Took a spin to Mornington at 7.30am. It was an awesome day with heaps of bikes on the road. The only downer was the 2 punctures from the broken bottles. Damn those brain dead nuffies who throw crap outta their cars.

Well said!

BTW, if you want to tell the genuine article from implants without getting your face slapped just look for the telltale bag outline - usually in the cleavage area, but sometimes out at the side.

well, it depends. Some of them look crap, like they're just a baseball shoved under the skin, and others look fantastic!!:D

Odin 04-25-06 05:28 AM

We're racing at Mulgrave on Saturday Oz... usually get some Southerners roll up. You gonna have a crack?

i doubt it was a 109, i think there are only 1 or 2 left and as far as i know one lives in the USA, the other in the UK. unless of course some Kiwi has gone and built one up :)

much more likley somthing like a mustang or a hurricane, even a spitfire.

eh, dunno. Maybe if I can get under 90kg by then.

Good old Dunlop Rd; I did my first ever criterium there in 1987. I don't think we even needed a license back then

62vette 04-25-06 03:32 PM

Nah, it wasn't a Mustang or Spitfire, and I'm only assuming it was a 109. It was painted up in WWII Luftwaffe livery. It had a much lower revving engine than a Mustang or Spitfire if that's any help.

There was a historic war plane air show recently in the South Island (Warbirds over Wanaka,) so it may even be a visiting plane doing the rounds in NZ as I haven't seen it before here in Tauranga.

62vette 04-25-06 03:38 PM

Looking at the Warbirds web site it may have been a Messerschmitt Bf-108 Taifun, but the pictured plane doesn't quite look like what I saw yesterday.
