A former colleague emailed me the Big Boy schedule this morning. I was slightly off. It’s going to pass about a 10 minute walk from my house and then run right along side a very popular MUP. It’s going to be sooooo cool! Need to pick the perfect spot to watch. I think the spot near my house has no fence to interfere with photos.

They brought the 2472 to several events marking the anniversary of various stations on the Peninsula, while TOB was still in his Train Phase. At one of them, they set up a set of stairs and a platform where you could look in the cab. TOB REALLY WANTED to see that, so we lined up and climbed the stairs. The thing about steam engines is they're CONSTANTLY hissing and thumping and making all kind of noises, so he was caught between being scared of the noise and DESPERATELY wanting to see in the cab. The latter won out, but he did put his hands over his ears!

everyone knows that Xennials are truly the best generation - otherwise known as the "Oregon Trail" generation. Yes, we were the first gamers. We were adolescents during the dawn of the internet age and have related tech. competency, but still had old school "analog" childhoods where we would play outside and "touch grass" all day (as a Gen Z would say).

If you do find a new one, keep it out of the dishwasher and the print will last longer.

You only need to be afraid of those if you're a bacterium. You're not a bacterium, are you?

Reminds me of the ingrown butt hair thread.

I think the closest 4014 got to us was Sacramento, so a 10 minute walk is pretty cool. Even if you didn't make the walk, you could probably hear the whistle from your house. We're 1/2 mile from the Caltrain (formerly SP) tracks and when they ran the old SP 2472 on excursions on the Peninsula we could hear the whistle from our house. That was cool!

I once photographed a former CP Baldwin steam locomotive that is used in tourist service in New Hope, PA. I was right next to it on the station platform. Got fine soot particles on my face.

I noticed that when I look at Strava, some of my friends’ activity map shows the route in animation (moving dot traces the route over a few seconds) while some show the route as a static picture. It’s not clear why some are animated and some are not. This is new in the past couple of weeks. Anyone else notice?

It’s supposed to stop for 15 minutes then enter a tunnel under the art museum. I hear CSX trains sound their horns when I’m on my deck.

You need to have experienced the world before the Internets. #GenX
I see them around. That doesn't mean that in every case they look good.

They seem evenly matched. I hope the Spurs can tie it up again. I don't have anyone to talk basketball with anymore since I retired. Friends who watched are not around any longer. Couple of the guys I worked with were rabid fans and it was fun to talk to them after a game.

. maybe its time for a new one.
