Will get out for a lunchtime blast today. Was planning on a trip up Kincumber on sunday but findin it hard to ride the bike up there due to the rust factor... think I need to get over it!

PS. Jock, crafty has track nuts listed on ebay!!!

you'd have to talk to Brad, he doesn't do much frames/bikes type stuff on the website.

I raced B1, only 4 of us, one guy got dropped early, we held off A grade but couldn't close the gap to B2 or C.

Anyway, I'm off to DGV on Friday for a 'crash course' in track racing :D

you found Lance's second nut?

What format? 75/62/50 or all-in 75?

75/62/50, with free Caltex water bottles for everyone.

Whoop! They were handing those out to the little tikes too! Most of them had nowhere to mount the things on their bikes tho!

front basket?

jock 09-11-05 06:54 PM

Hee-hee. No front basket. These guys are serious. My little one event made me rip the streamers out of the handlebars for better aero performance :roflmao:

Hadley's has a little 650c bike on sale...

jock 09-11-05 07:23 PM

do tell

climbo 09-11-05 07:23 PM

she'll want full carbon w/Dura Ace 10 for Xmas.

Brian 09-11-05 07:29 PM

Crap. It was blue, and very basic. Noticeably small, which I think is key as well. Shall I investigate more and report back after work Thursdee?

Noticably small is good. Blue, whilst not the best colour for a girl, will suffice. So you can report back on Thursday if the thing has some gears and is under $410. A local bike shop has one on sale down here for that price with stem mounted gear levers.

Brian 09-11-05 07:49 PM

Were they the gigantic plastic levers? I know it had some funky looking levers at the top of the stem, near the bars. Perhaps 2x7? I'll check the price and spec, and I know that they're a bit flexible on pricing. Which reminds me - I may need to see if I can swap my Saturday for Sunday, otherwise I won't be available at 2:00.

The guy in Bikeworx was building a really nice tiny giant with 10 speed ultegra for his wife! TCR1 I think.
:D

Sounds like an Avanti Primo

Don't bother: the birthday bash is off. I'll have to drink beer at Green Point instead.

Dunno. I'm just taking a gander at kidz bikes in general. Earlier this year the LBS wanted to whack me for $700 odd, but that might have included sti shifters. Call me cheap, but for a bike that the rugrats will outgrow in no time flat I'm not in a hurry to hand over large wads of cash.

Brian 09-11-05 08:58 PM

You're cheap. But I'm in the same boat when it comes to kids, I just have more of them. I'd be happy if my 12 year old outgrew her bike physically. But makeup and mobile phones won out over riding with mum and dad. Perhaps I'll give it another go this year.

I might resurrect it, but I'm walking a fine line with training, crits AND now track as well... Must tread carefully along the long thin line that separates a life of harmony from divorce

Rang Hadleys. It is the Primo at $475 cash. A local shop has em for $430.
