Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The real reason behind the ghost pics:

EURO doesn't want us to see his full disco kit featuring yellow jersey

Yawn. OR, I'm for real, and a lot of people on the board are going to eating their headwear.

cool photos. must be scary/exhilarating to race like that...

if you don't mind, please explain how you were able to crop yourself out of the photos.

the way i do that in fireworks - with a 'magic wand' selection tool - just would not work so well with all the busy background colors, tones, overlaps, etc... and seems like using the cutting tool would be awfully painstaking...

edit: since you've changed avatars, please identify the previous one. has been driving me nuts. my guess is a historic figure photographed in his youth long before achieving fame/notoriety?

I bet a used bike helmet just tastes like a salty rice-cake. A dollop of cottage cheese and two artisticaly arranged cucumber slices and it might be quite nice.

The reason he photoshopped himself out of the pic is because in reality EURO is a just some chav from Hartlepool and his kit is Burberry.

Just havin' a go at ya' mate. I believe you are/will achieving your goal.

Nah - if he was a chav he'd have lowered wheels, a bike rack with a massive subwoofer, and a child seat with two blonde slags in it.

Manually with the cutting selection tool in Photoshop

That's assuming they care enough about what has largely become a huge joke to be so mortified when you "prove" everything you've set out to prove. Personally, I'll laugh harder when you do because the only thing it will prove is that you do, in fact, care a great deal about what other people think of you, regardless of how hard you debate that point.

But, enough said. No need to turn this thread into another pointless EURO debate -- I've showed my pictures, now you show yours. Like you said.

Here's me at Cumberland Island, Georgia. Rode 25 miles on oyster shell and sand roads on a single speed.

Another of me, relaxing on the front porch of the Big House. I was 20lbs. heavier then.

Another pic of me hauling granddaughters up the driveway.

And here's me at Hazmat training. I'm on the right. :-)

And finally a bicycle pic. When I ride with my wife, I'm on the mtb.

View from atop Grant Mt. And that's my wife. The first pic was taken behind the second row of hills in the distance.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's a "chav"?

I seem to be blocked from viewing it here at work, so I'll check it out later. Thanks!

Bikes: A few.

This thread has devolved nicely. Euro do you have any other fodder for our twisted amusement?

Any guess as to how long it took to so expertly cut his image from the photos?

When I'm really bored I read a EURO thread, it's so much fun seeing this "guy" take himself so seriously and everyone else laughing AT him. I think that in his mind he really believes we care one way or another what he does.

Maybe he photoshops himself out of the pictures because he's really James Bond 007. EURO, Ben Cousins, James Bond...does anyone really care?

Rad,

Don't give him any credit as a Photshop guru, it really was a pretty badly done job. Remember, he's a "big picture guy" and not one of the talent.

Funny thing is: a number of folks seem to get genuinely whipped up over this chaff. The responses speak for themselves.

That's one of the big reasons I'll read his posts if I have extra time, which I happen to have right now. He's just such a pompous azz; it's like a train wreck, you just have to look. I often wonder if he even reads his own post to see how ridiculous he comes off. I almost feel bad for him.

Almost

Um, chances are, he's not really like that, but really enjoys getting a rise out of some of you. Just a thought. Personally, I think he's hilarious.
