Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So I've been acquiring parts for the last 6 months, and the frame arrived on Friday. After two rides, I like this bike a lot. I'm going to remove the upper spacer and cut the steerer, and I might remove the decals from the wheels.

Lynskey R120 Houseblend
SRAM Force
Easton Orions
Alpha Q CS10 fork

I just got this from the Serotta Garage. A lightly used demo in just my size, could not tell it had been built up before, and Serotta F-3 fork for $1,690. I could not be happier!

Mine will arrive this week. It is a 1999 Litespeed Ultimate, purchased NOS in 2001, ridden one season and put away in the garage.

I almost got a NOS Merlin Agilis off the bay for $1500 but someone outbid me for like $1526. It was a 2006 NOS medium frame, Ultegra etc. Seems like they got it for a helluva deal.

that magic ride with a soul. If I could only own one bike in my lifetime,
titanium would be the one.

You've inspired me. Did yours come with decals on it? My '06 Tuscany's came with them, but they're a little flashy for the rest of the bike. Ditch the big one on the downtube? Ditch them all? Hmm...

I'm guessing it's a rubber band that serves as a parking brake?
