Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nashbar

Anyone have nashbar substitute your 2 day air order with ground? I've heard of them doing this to other people and really ****ing things up. It just happened to me, too, and I picked 2 day air cause I need it fast... Fedex estimates 3 days, so it should be OK. If it takes more, though, I may be screwed. Anyone else find this a really dirty business tactic?

- i've had part of a two-day order canceled, then the remainder of the order shipped two day as well...

- if one of my orders had the shipping changed, i'd dispute the shipping charge (IOW, would call Nashbar, tell 'em i'd want credit for the diff - one can always dispute any spurious over charge w/the CC company - however getting into a dispute with your CC company is a horse of a different color...)

I couldn't believe the cavalier attitude of these aholes. I have ordered hundreds of dollars of stuff from them, and suddenly I had a non existent account when I went to order on the net. I called customer service, and they claimed that I had never been a customer. I told them that I had not only been a long term customer, but that I had ordered through my account as recently as a couple of months ago. They said they would look into it and get back to me. This was two years ago - I have never heard from them, and they have never heard from me again. They had an item that I could find no where else, and it was on sale. I still refused to order in that the only way we can defeat these derelicts is voting with our dollars.

I wish I had the e-mail address of the President of Nashbar/Performance; because I'd really like to be their customer.

Unfortunately their customer service is so very poor that I won't shop from either of them.

Take a look at the most recent annual reports, they list the names of corporate officers.
Shouldn't be too hard to reach their e-mail, try the usual address conventions

pricepoint isn't much better. I ordered a bike rack from them for my apt. it came resealed and the hangers were missing. I called them to let them know and the guy said he'd have to have a manager call me back. 4 days later he called. I had already ordered the hangers directly from the manufacturer (only $15) and I will never order from them again. Guess I'll h ave to keep an eye on Nashbar too. so far I've only ordered a couple things from them but I didn't have a problem.

Customer service at Nashbar is a joke, none of them know anything about bicycles and everything in their telephone manner signals the "I-barely-care-about-this-job" attitude. I'm sort of surprised they haven't outsourced it to India by now, I'm sure they are thinking about it.
