Ordered a jersey several weeks ago that hadn't been delivered after three weeks so I begin sending emails to PBK to resolve. After several emails and waiting another week, they finally state that they would re-send another jersey. This one finally arrives this week but was not the jersey I ordered. I sent them an email but they are not responding. Very frustrating experience.

Also, during this time period I ordered new pedals....which arrived timely. But, PBK charged me $10 postage when they had never done that before. ??

Just thought I'd share this with you guys. Anybody else having problems with PBK lately?

PBK began charging $10 for shipping several weeks ago. There were a couple of threads discussing this. It is on the PBK site that they are now charging $10 for shipping to the US.

10 bucks for order is the rate now for shipping...


They have been drop-n the ball as of late...

I sent a return to them a good two months ago or so, and I don't think I ever got credited for it....I need to follow up on that.

It's a shame to hear that. Is PBK getting too big for its britches?

The "incredible" sales deals seems to have ended too. Glad I pulled the trigger when I did.

Yea.. Ive been finding comparable deals from sellers on the Bay and the people Ive been dealing with on Ebay ship really fast. I have most stuff in 2 days.

Very easy to see: DA groupset increased from something in the $1040s and now to the $1060s

Their customer service sucks now too. I ordered a stealthy plain bib in one size and I got a team bib in two sizes larger. WTF? I still haven't returned it yet, but thinking about the cost of sending it back and the waiting to be re-credited, really discouraged me. I'll just craigslist the darn thing. PBK is dead.

"Unleashed the fury" is the preferred nomenclature.

Took about 3 or 4 days longer than normal to receive the last set of tires I ordered from them....

all this kvetching about a flat 10$ shipping fee, or the fact that your stuff got held up in customs, is getting boring.

Just think of it as a Taco Bell for bike schwag-- your order isn't really an order, it's more of a suggestion.

i just received a mixed groupset, veloce and centaur stuff. they got all it all exactly right and to my door 8 days after ordering. i saved over 200$ from the next cheapest place i could find. 10$ shipping is nothing for 1/2 way around the world. i pay more for shipping on things from the next state over and usually wait longer.

Many of those price increases can be attributed to the Pound being worth more then US$2 now, about a 15 cent increase from two months ago.

Many of us use PBK, and other overseas vendors, as reliable sources of components and accessories, and would benefit from receiving objective comments on customer service.

From my end, I've ordered from PBK 2 times since the $10 shipping was introduced, and the level of service was the same as my previous 10 orders...rec'd order in 5 or 6 business days.

Other posters commented on the "incredible deals" disappearing, perhaps the fluctuation in exchange rates is the culprit.

Yeah, low interest rates and war spending drive the relative rates of two freely traded monetary suppiles how exactly? These currencies float. Someone needs an econ class.

I just tested this by throwing some quarters and a 50 Euro cent coin in the toilet. You owe me 75 cents and a half a Euro.

i've noticed a couple prices change but for the most part the items that i've had in my wishlist have stayed pretty much the same given exchange rate fluctuations, i'm not all that happy about the 10$ shipping either, but i guess i'll just have to consolidate my orders a little more now, tires are still less than 1/2 any price in stores

When interest rates are low (dollar) relative to another country the only thing that it means is that the money supply in that country is not tight and buying that currency (through a loan) to do what you want with it (buying a home, a new bike, or going to college, etc) cost less. This is a very good thing. Money is cheap to borrow currently. People borrow it as they wish and make it grow. International investing (through directly buying currency) doesn't influence interest rates greatly over the short/medium term, if it did US federal and many other countries policies would be dictated by meetings in Beijing and not the federal reserve of those countries. We're not there yet.

up north here, the bank of canada set's interest rates (both for borrowing and for returns on investment) it does so to control the value of the canadian dollar. Think about it, if they jacked up the return to 20% tomorow, everybody and you're dog would be on the phone buying mutual funds, bonds, etc from canada, demand goes up, supply stays the same, so the value of the canadian dollar would shoot up, of course this would never happen to such a large scale cause it would jack up the price on our agricultural exports to the US, which is 40% of our GNP or whatever abbreviation includes export income.

back on subject, i think i need that adjustable stem PBK sells so maybe i'll order it and see how things go, i can't imagine a drastic difference here. If it helps i think one lady answers all the emails, not bad for a fairly popular online shop.
