Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just finished building my new bike on Sunday. Specs as follows:

Kinesis Racelight RC Aluminium Frame with carbon wishbone seatstays
Columbus Tusk Carbon forks
Campag Veloce 2007 10 spd ergo levers & mechs
FSA SLK Carbon Chainset
Look CX7 carbon pedals
Campag Scirocco Wheelset
Deda bars and stem
SKF BRI300 Isis BB
Selle Italia Initiale Saddle
Dolce Vita carbon seatpost
Tektro RX40 brake calipers

Haven't weighed it yet but should come in around 16.5lbs.

Looking forward to having a ride this weekend.

I know I am!!
It will be unlocked on my porch for about 10 seconds, while I close the front door before heading out. Be fast!

They look like Campy, either Veloce or Centaur.

My Allez Pro

Here is my bike, a 2006 Allez Pro built with Campy Record, which I've always wanted. I have a S-Works carbon handlebar, which I need to install, and next year the Ksyrium Elite wheelset will be upgraded to Ksyrium SL ESs.

Thanks, it is a great color if I may say so myself. It has a very slight hint of metallic to it. It isn't that bright in the shade. This is one responsive bike.

Here's my Schwinn Super Sport - full Suntour Cyclone components. Rescued it for $80 with a destroyed rear wheel and bar tape in shreds. It was sitting in the driveway of a man who I originally was going to buy a Univega ten-speed from - when I saw the Schwinn, I knew I had to get it instead. It was light, good-looking, and woefully neglected. I talked him into selling it (he was very reluctant at first), and after a bit of negotiating it was mine.

In the past years and through different upgrades (new wheelset, levers, calipers, tape, freewheel, saddle) I've managed to turn it into something that I really enjoy riding. It's quite svelte at twenty-one pounds, especially for an 80s steel framed road bike. Here we go:
