Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Brought it home a week ago tomorrow. I've only put 85 miles on it so far cuz of the stupid rain. However the best 85 miles I've ridden to date. Carbon makes a huge difference.

I see now that the '06 Tarmac had it too. I didn't notice it before.

The are several manufacturers now that have curved top tubes. I read a while back that the benefit of the curved tube is to minimize the compact geometry look while still effectively having compact geometry. It works for me.

wow, some nice bikes posted!

my current ride is a 2005 bianchi eros - not too fancy, but good enough for centuries, commuting, and monthly critical mass. my first road bike, an 80's miyata (blue frame with pink/white/green art-deco decals!), has been converted to a fixed gear.

and damn does it feel good to pass somebody riding an unobtanium bike that costs twice as much as mine!!

steel is real.

I returned it to Performance.... they gave me my money back!! I found myself having constant shifting issues with it; and though the mechs were real nice, that kind of high maintenace should really not be a part of the new bike experience!!
Hope you have better luck with yours. Keep us posted!

The guy who distributed Ciocc bikes for most of Canada told me it is pronounced "chee-oak"; basically, I call mine a "choke".

Yes it is. Pretty high quality stuff too, at least back in the day. I think that the name was sold off but I could be wrong. Old Ciocc frames on eBay fetch a pretty penny as they were rare in most North American markets.
