Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks! The bars are Syntace bullhorns that I cut down for easier access to the bar end shifter. I wanted to build something simple and fun that I could gear down for riding to the grocery store and stuff (unlike my track bike, which is a more intense workout). It's basically just a very quick townie bike.

Wow, only just under 15lbs. Where is the weight in that beauty? Looks like a pretty small frame too.

Thanks! It's been a few years since the Moots build and I didn't weigh each component so I can't compare...I'm not breaking it down to weigh tho.

Winter beater is complete. Has some issues but hopefully C&V can help with this matter. This was taken this morning before I rode out to Nyack. Now it's very dirty

Socratic irony.
My bike is ironic because it appears to be fixed gear, but is actually an Ultegra/DA road bike. It's ok if you don't get it, it's not that funny.

My IF Ti Crown Jewel, '08. Pleasantly surprised by the Edge fork, which they are using now instead of Reynolds.

Bike is set up for climbing and long solo rides-- light weight (15.5 lbs w/pedals) with a long wheelbase and relaxed front geometry.

Okay...so I've always been a bit "afraid" to post my bike...but finally got the gusto after I got some new gear for her... I havent seen alot of these bikes around the forums but she definitely is a great little ride for me. My first was a 92 cannondale r300...but I wanted something with brifters but couldnt drop alot of dough..so I found this lil girl on CL...so...here ya go....

K2 Mach 1
Shimano Sora Group (that's the next upgrade..)
Just put new wheelset, cassette and seat on (christmas present)

My comment wasn't directed specifically at you; it was more of a general statement, as a large portion of people who claim that their bike is "ironic" aren't using the word appropriately. That said, I applaud your steadfast defense of your use of the word. Looking back at your post, I have to say that your bike is pretty cool (even if it does resemble a fixie hipster bike).
