Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks, next time a little more guidance(as to where) would be far more beneficial.

Sadly the quit making the aluminum S series. I'm thinking of picking one up myself as well, but they are getting harder to find.

Excellent sir. Excellent.

Is it the camera angle or is your seat really that high?

Partially the camera angle, and the sloping top tube. It is the medium length seatpost at it's longest extension. I'll go measure the drop right now. This question keeps popping up.

5.5" is the drop. The top of the bars are at 35", and the seat is at 40.5"

I just realized I don't have a pic of my bikes current build in here...

EDIT: Oh wait, that's not even a current pic... now I have different stem, narrower bars with a shallow drop, and more beer related stickers.

I love my Soloist Team. If you can find an NOS or lightly used one, definitely pick one up.

My gift from Santa finally arrived!

A Raleigh Revenio 3.0 with 105 all around. Its name is Tron. Haven't put too many miles on it yet, but so far it's pretty sweet. A big step up from my 1998 Specialized Hardrock Classic MTB with slicks!

I don't have a white garage door, but I do have an indoor garage...

While we're talking about soloists, here's mine! Awesome bike that I managed to snag used, and I'm still trying to gradually swap out some of the components (crank, bars, headset, fork) that the original owner failed to take care of (who the f**k leaves a bike like this out in the rain so much that the screws start to rust???)

I'm well aware of the aesthetic flaws in this picture, but I hope that we can all look past the exterior flaws and appreciate the peerless character of the bike as I do.

Ha! Thanks. Close, I cloned out the wedge underneath the right pedal.

BF Response you'd expect: Nice bike but take off saddle bag, adjust cranks to face forward, remove water bottle and in this case you should have propped it up on the wall for the picture.

My response: Awesome color scheme on that soloist, and it's nice to see somebody who clearly had to USE their bike for the picture to be taken.

My new bike for 2011, a BMC RaceMaster SLX01 2009 with DuraAce group and FSA crank, Mavic Aksium Race Wheels. I managed to get this frameset used from a friend and it is in great condition.

I need some nice racing wheels now. Any suggestions under $ 800?

Nice BMC. It's good to have friends with frames lying around. I got my last two that way.
