Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My first road bike--just bought it as a birthday present to myself. Research seems to indicate that it's a 2001. It looks as though the original owner barely ever rode it. I can't wait to get it on the road once the snow melts.

I just bought my first ever new bike. Up until now I have been riding a used Trek 1000 that I bought from my local BS when I first started riding seriously. Now I am the proud owner of a 2010 Cannondale CAAD 9.6, I should be getting it this Friday. I will post picks when it comes in.

Or what?
I mean, I do get your point, he had the trouble to take off the pedals and POSE the bike. The number plate should come off. But still...

Really why? Do you think someone will mistakenly think they have ventured into a UCI race when they see it? I for one dig the number being on the bike being that the bike is unique in that it has a pro-tour race history. If I were to buy a old race car with a professional pedigree you bet I would not be out there sanding the numbers off.

Just got the bike when I took that picture, hence, no pedals yet.
Had to POSE the bike to post it here.
Took the plate off and kept it though.

She's a beauty Herzeleid! The geometry looks similar to my Roubaix(longer wheelbase, taller headtube), which is why I chose it also. I never dreamed that 'comfortable' and 'road bike' could be used in the same sentence

2006 Trek 1500 frame and fork. The rest is from a 2008 Motobecane Le Champion I bought from BD, stripped, put the parts and Neuvations on the Trek frame/fork and sold the Moto frame with stock 1500 parts for some dough, also sold the Ritchey Le Champ wheels. Been wanting to put a pic of my bike up for a while. I'm a 2-3 times per week kinda rider, 25-45 miles per ride. Have been real happy with this bike. Anyway, specs:

Frame/fork: 2006 Trek 1500 58cm
Group: Ultegra 10 speed
Cranks: FSA carbon something
Wheels: Neuvation M28 Aeros
Tires: Conti 4000s
Saddle: Felt Carbon (no carbon involved, just by name)
Components: Ritchey WCS
Pedals: Shimano low-end SPD-R

How do you like the Krypton? I'm really, really leaning to getting one this spring, though I may have to settle for 105 vs ultegra.

How do you like that Argon 18 Frame? I was looking into a new frame soon.
