r.i.p. Sheldon, wouldn't be where i am with biking today without your help
|
Goodbye Sheldon, and thanks.
|
shocked and sad to learn this only now. he actually helped me figure out the right tire for my old bike.
thank you and RIP Sheldon |
His website helped me build my wheel. I've never met him, but he's done more for me as a cyclist than any pro cyclist or bike company ever has.

I have met many wonderful people involved in cycling over the last 35 years.
Lots of colorful personalities, enriching our lives and adding so much to this complex sport we all love. Over the past decade or so, this medium, the internet, has connected cyclists world wide in a way that previously was not possible. I have never met Sheldon Brown, however, through his web pages, obviously the product of a brilliant mind and a lover of our sport, has answered many of our questions in a humorous and informative way. He will join a long list of characters who form the history of cycling and will be remembered for all time. Thank you, PS. I know this is very late, but I was involved in my own battle last year. |

I just discovered his wisdom & wit a few weeks ago. I didn't know that he passed away last year, my prayers & condolences go to his family and friends. Reading his web site & his writings I felt like I was getting sage advise from a knowledgeable uncle or close friend. I am sure many feel like I do that you lost a member of the family. What more can we ask for than to touch other peoples' life in a positive way. Sheldon touch so many lives, his memory will live on...thank you Sheldon!

RIP I learned a lot from his site. Thanks Sheldon!

Like everyone else, I am sad to see him pass and wish his family the best. His informative website has been very useful to me in the short time I have been road cycling, I am sure that he will be missed.
|
I had some brief contact with him on usenet about 7 or 8 years ago. He was a true gentleman with a wry. good natured sense of humor. He made the world a better place.
