Everyone having a nice uptight, critical self-righteous day here on HrN?

No two ways. A bad @ss'ed ride. Pro set up. You better be a lean, mean fighting machine to ride that whip for long.
Congrats. Awesome! I'm glad I took some wrenches yesterday, I rode the pinarello 115 miles in a bit under 7 hours. Nothing blazing fast pace but steady solo non cramping/bonking tempo thru the heat wave SoCal is under right now. I did use the wrench to make some adjustments to the hoods and seat angles. Stuff that my normal hour lunch rides doesn't show, I think I got it sorted out. Good times and empty roads doing a a century on a Thursday :thumb: |

the pedals + frameset are 1984, the groupset is 1992.
If with Cobalto group, that would have been period correct. |

Not quite "period correct" to be considered complete package of "hot"..

It isn't a bad looking bike, but it is not hot, at least not to me. Nothing about old vintage bikes is hot because I am not into that era. It is clean, the bar tape is a good choice as I said earlier, but aside from that, I wouldn't give it a second look. Don't be offended because my opinion really doesn't matter. Pretty sure that nothing with gumwalls has gotten a hot from me, and this bike is no different.
BTW, All black tires would look stupid on a bike from the 80s |

I own a NOS Cobalto brakeset, but they aren't period correct for the frameset or groupset.

At least they would be from the same decade as the frame, more "period correct" than those Ergo shifters..
The Cobalto brakeset I have is NOS, and still in the box. It's likely to stay that way for several more decades. |
Now I remember you.
cat0020 is the guy that thinks derailleurs "stretch". :roflmao2: |

Those Ergopower shifters are part of a complete 1992 groupset, the Cobalto brakeset would be completely oddball.

Something in the air...... Btw, I recently put aero levers on a 72 Schwinn. The braking is much improved. Maybe I'll post it here. Not

You're the one stated frame is from 1984, not the same decade as 1992 Ergo shifters, which are just oddball when mounted on a 1984 frame that's meant for friction or downtube shifter.
NOS=collector's value only. Remember that next time you post some BS about "period correct" in a purely aesthetic related thread. I'm still waiting to hear about derailleur stretch. |
I can't wait to post my bike here and get mad when someone doesn't like it.

You've been working on this bike for years. How have you been? Why no riding?

This particular G3 Stealth was a google find a couple months ago when I just happened to look up Storck bikes once again. Its only available from bike-components.de; took almost 3 weeks to get to the NYC. I've been great, back to road cycling and already have another frameset in mind for the N+1. Lol. Long story short, I went back to practicing kempo karate after enrolling the children 3 years ago. I ended up using up my free time practicing, training, sparring which eventually led me into trying out MMA and having to give up cycling. But after a couple injuries, one being a concussion that happened earlier in this year, my wife and kids said no more. So, here I am back on the road. :) |
Good to have you back. What's the next bike? You probably won't say.
