Ok, I know I am going to take a few hits, but I am not going to over-stage it. Bag, two bottles, and this is how I ride her (once the snow outside melts). Just glad to have something almost worthy of posting in this thread

i like it, nice bmc

I <3 Robots 03-21-13 12:59 PM

No need to stage. BMC = hot

YOJiMBO20 03-21-13 12:59 PM

I'll give the BMC a hot. Very classy and not overly done on anything.

R1lee 03-21-13 01:38 PM

i like the BMC, but the BOYD decals are not doing it for me. I think the BOYD ghost decals would look much better.

CALE262 03-21-13 01:43 PM

Without the Lightweight wheels... and the snow continues to fall.

6"s of fresh snow and nowhere but the trainer to go. Meh...

TDRILL 03-21-13 01:59 PM

Beautiful Colnago ^^^

So far so good, you guys aren't nearly of critical of it as I am, but I am not complaining and I feel Bianchi lurking . . .

I LOVE the ghost look. I hemmed and hawed about it for months actually but finally decided the white would look better on this build. Got the wheels in and what I received appears to be a set of ghosted with white stickers over top. Best of both worlds, but I haven't ripped the stickers off yet because though not a fan of such bolt lettering on wheels, still think it helps the frame lettering pop a bit. What I'd ideally want is the smaller lettering from a 44 on my 58s but it isn't really an option. I don't do photoshop or I'd mess with it and make a final decision. Anyway, I appreciate the input

Instant tentage for that bike. Super Record... Ooooh.

Ross11 03-21-13 02:13 PM

The Colnago is awesome no doubt, but the fork does need to be cut and it might be fine in real life but the saddle color should be black or match the white of the frame.

Ally G 03-21-13 02:14 PM

Great photo with lovely contrast, getting towards the hotter end of the scale for me

Looks good but no doubt others will complain about headset

and what is that hanging off the back of the saddle?

We are suffering under snow too! coldest march for 50 years so they say!

BykOfALesserGod 03-21-13 02:29 PM

It's the latest bike bling. A ponytail/speed indicator.

OK here goes...

I'm on the fence about it. I'm not a fan of -17 deg stems because I think they look odd below level. also dont care for the cages. Hate the aesthetics of the SMP saddles. I dislike seeing large computers (garmins and others alike) on the stem, Id rather see a garmin bar mount that places it out in front of the bar. Its completely personal and not needed, I just think it cleans the cockpit up a bit. All of these are obviously pure aesthetics.

BUT

I am a big fan of the black team machine! Boyds look great on there too! With your set up, I think you could go either way of keeping the decals on or removing them to go with the all black wheels. Personally, I love how a wheel looks with logo's while moving so I vote keep them on. Good saddle to bar drop.

As wooooooooooooooosh said, I think to myself, would I take a second look at this bike if I saw it riding on the street? Yeah I would, so I will give it a hot.

so a deliberately added piece which increases drag?

sorry I don't think I would add that add this to my bike, the colnago is pretty enough :)

This is all personal to me. I dont like colnago's, though this frame isn't bad at all. most have disgusting colors splashed on them. I also am not a campy fan. Dont like how they look aesthetically. Wish the garmin mount was a little lower and not sticking up so much. I like the white seatpost as i think it matches the bike nicely, but wish the stem was white to also match. If the stem is going to stay black, I would personally like to see a black seatpost to give symmetry.

It's a pretty sweet ride no doubt about it, but I'll echo some thoughts, minimize the bottle cages to a lower profile (I'm really like the bontrager xxxlite), a little overlogo'd overall. I think I saw that you have the ability to ghost, I'd definitely do it, not so much the boyd name it's just that there is a lot of white outlining going on over there :). funky looking saddle, is it comfortable? I've not seen it before these last two bikes. and lastly.. yeah gotta put that computer ahead of the bar (for me it's simply a sight thing, I wear progressive's and can't see the data when the computer is mounted on the stem ha!).

pretty freaking stellar though and I'm not a fan of BMC's looks

gc3 03-21-13 03:17 PM

No sense me repeating the minor criticisms noted of the BMC, and well, the bar drop says "pro look" nicely. You also appear to have one of those newfangled ponytail/speed indicators.

I <3 Robots 03-21-13 03:36 PM

The "Speed indicator" come on all SMP saddles.

SteveFromNY 03-21-13 03:53 PM

everytime I see Boyds, I wish I'd gotten in on their 2012 38mm closeouts!

eduardo76 03-21-13 04:08 PM

both BMC and Colnagos are hot...well done! i was starting to lose faith...

This is pretty hot. But as an OCD, i would slam the stem and change to a 6 degree 3T ARX Team stem to have that little bit of red highlight (working well with the other red bits on the ford and seatpost), change the curvy bottle cages because they don't fit well with the clean lines of the bike, and de-decal the BOYD logos on the wheelset (they clash with the BMC logo). That would make the bike super hot.

I was expecting that  I can live with my training bike as "room temp", it's just a training bike after all :p

Thanks for the replies.

If it had a black saddle and tape it'd be smokin' hot. The stark white of the frame vs the duller white of the saddle and tape brings it down a few notches.

Still hot, though.

I'm with the others on the wheel decals, saddle, bottle cages, and computer. Wouldn't want to repeat what had previously been said.

I'm a fan of BMC bikes, but this is only close to hot at best.

Also not a fan of SMP saddles - look's like a witch's nose! Have the steerer cut properly.

I like Colnagos and white bikes, and I also thought of getting a white seatpost on mine (I have two white bikes), but it doesn't look nice.

As with the BMC, just close to hot.
