It has been mentioned, but I think many are giving it a pass because they don't want to pile on.

The spacers and Garmin on top isn't good. The frame is awesome. People that have an issue with the name Vortex haven't been riding long enough.

The frame and wheelset is fine, but the rest of it isn't hot. It may ride great, and work perfectly for the owner, but in no way is this bike HOT.

that Moots is a nice bike, but it's not even close to being hot.

I think the Vortex could be hot in a classic Litespeed way. I agree with the Moots. It's the compact geometry for me. Nice bike though.

The Ridley is sharp (Hot) as is.

definitely HOT!

Bianchi’s get a free pass with the gumwalls in my book. Not super hot, but it’s straight up Bianchi, ‘nuff said...

Aesthetically just falls a little short for me. Put a back brace on and slam that stem!

This thread is about good looking bikes. IMO yours is anything but. Nice bike, but hard to look at.

I agree with the criticisms of the individual features, and could go on about the things I don't like, but I have to say, overall it seems like a fun bike. Not hot - homely and a bit confused - but it has a nice personality. ;)
Sometimes idealized, catalog-ready bike builds where there is nothing specific to criticize are just boring. This is kind of the opposite.

Valve stems don't line up with tire labels.

Seatpost collar needs to go on a diet.

Phone/GPS case needs to be black.

Crank lined up at 3:00 position.

Bars need to be rotated up a half a smidge and the levers moved down a smidge.

Right front handlebar top looks like it has about half a pound of gel under it.

I would get a stem with some rise and remove some spacers.

:) All in good fun :)

If you're gonna go to the trouble to picture your bike, put that crank exactly at 3:00

And your skewers are at crazy random positions. I prefer both levers to be oriented horizontally back for aeroness, but alignment with fork blade or seat and chainstays is permissible.

Rear brake cable housing too long as well.

Your tire labels are all messed up. On the front, you have the label that has the yellow part of the logo oriented with the valve, but on the rear, the yellow logo is opposite your value stem.

Crit bikes should only have one water bottle cage.

OK, I had to work really hard to come up with these. And I almost thought your saddle wasn't level, but will let that one slide. Great background for that shot, too.

Eggbeater pedals are elegant and classy and the silver finish matches my Ti frame McFly. It’s only one 40mm spacer brah! Chill! Tired of these ugly slammed junk carbon racers in this thread! All this slammed carbon junk here makes me puke. My crank is beautiful! Most beautiful crank in the world! These cookie cutter black cranks in this thread make me laugh!!!! Hahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!! You wish you owned it! My vortex is the best looking bike in this thread and you can stick your worthless incorrect opinion in this gutter of a thread where it belongs!!!!

On a serious note the cranks and brakes are ultegra 6800 so they match. Not sure why you think they don’t match perhaps it’s the lighting or you need to get your eyes checked....because your clearly wrong about my beautiful 6/4 Ti Vortex!(added more fake drama here not serious).

It's the PERFECT machine for dropping kitted out retired 50 year olds like they're standing still while you're anywhere between 60 and 85 pounds overweight!

This is the Piuma from Marinoni made with Columbus Spirit tubes that came stock with the bike but built with an 44mm headtube and with the Columbus FEL fork. I spend two hours at Marinoni on the fitting bike to have a frame that fit me perfectly. I choose the color, the custom oversize headtube, the sloping of the top tube, Handbuilt in Montréal.

Handsome bike, but the distortion in the photo is horrific!

Just a beautiful bike built to ride.* The contrast is a nice touch.* It looks very well thought out, and Marinoni is probably the best value in North America for a custom.

TimothyH 09-03-18 04:04 PM

The Marinoni is 10/10.

Would ride. :thumb:

Not the newest bike out of the showroom 7900 group with 6800 crank, temporary wired computer, mtb pedals but she and I get the occasional top 10 strava segment together. Maiden voyage with the new wheels once I get my latex tubes and valve extenders. Photo angle makes the bars look a bit funky.

My SL5 tarmac, set up as a crit machine

Other than the extra three feet of RD cable... hot.

eTap will make it HOT.

BTW... do you need 2 bottle cages on a "Crit machine"?

You gotta be kidding.

That thing is as hot as any crabon bike in this thread, which quite frankly, isn't difficult to pull off. For one thing his saddle is level.
