I normally don't like the look of November bikes but this is hot - well put together.

super cool a Paketa....my next bike

X-LinkedRider 10-21-11 08:09 AM

That Paketa is just oversize aluminum tubing right? Reminds me of the Old style Cannondale Road Bikes but the welding is not as smooth. It's a sweet looking ride though and the complete build came out even nicer.

The bike is magnesium.

At this point I want my next bike to be magnesium with campagnolo electric. Hopefully my aluminum bike w/ record10 holds out 4+ years.

2008 indeed. Got it brand new at the end of last season. Just put on the 303s which are new as well (but 2006 model). Haven't ridden it with the Zipps yet as it's been raining nonstop since I got them all glued on.

I love my new bike but I often really miss my 2003 TCR Composite. That thing was just such a sweet riding bike. I hope the thieves are enjoying it.

The first Paketa frames were imported from a Russian factory that was making bikes out of their leftover magnesium tubing. I had one. The Russians were unreliable, so Paketa started building the bikes in Boulder. From what I remember, they were buying their magnesium tubing from the same source as Pinarello, when the magnesium Dogma was still being made.

thanks for the info.

ive been picture whoring due to the new crankset so i just as well throw some up here too. i just got record 10spd ultra-torque cranks on my scattante. for those that wonder why the frame is overdressed, the frameset was a highschool graduation gift from my dad. he wanted to get me a specialized but is unable to work due to a military injury. i keep looking at replacing it but dont have the heart to at this point.

Looks like it is in hill climbing mode. Whats it weigh? The frameset is like 2400g if I remember correct.

i havent weighed it yet. i am away from home without a scale. i cant comment on the frameset weight but that wouldnt surprise me. the frame didnt feel too bad but the fork felt very heavy by comparison.

with the chorus alloy cranks and square taper BB it was just under 18lbs if i recall. these parts have now moved to my bianchi cross bike.
