Thanks!

So you don't like the newer pic with the Lightning removed, and the Beyond Black wheel decals? As for the stem, I just special ordered this:

to complement this:

Sorry the stem isn't carbon, but carbon stems worry me a bit.

I have tomorrow off. I'll take a pic then. I leave for work when the sun is just coming up, and when I come home it is dark out. I need a new job so I can ride in the winter more.

For me there are very few bikes in this thread above a 9, and a 10 is pretty much unobtainable. I'd give SA's Cervelo a solid 8-8.5 though.

I thought you were a stickler for the photo rules.

The valve stems are not properly positioned.

Exactly when did we start the point system?

I suggested it a couple pages back. I didn't think it would stick but it seems to be making a little headway.

A recent pic of my race/commuter/training, and as of this morning, TT rig.

8.3 worth of hot. Red tape and red seat or black tape with black seat would push it to 9.6

VA_Esquire 12-28-11 09:30 AM

Nah, the red tape and seat would be too much. I think due to the frame being two coloured like this, looks better with a black saddle and white bar tape.

Like any modern bike, it needs deeper wheels! :D

Red bar and tape, agreed, with that with the wheels would be too much. Black and black would be preferable, imh though always right o , to the mix. :)

For me, that Look would have a hard time getting any better. It's a 9.0 for aesthetics.

Here's my addict sl. I've posted in a couple of other threads, but haven't taken the thrashing here. I included the hed3 and the edge wheel versions- the bike is 12.57lbs with the hed wheels and 11.46 with the edge wheels. I also use it to commute to work 2-3 times a week from Sept - Nov and March - June, although I usually use a set of alloy clincher wheels for that (which are, incidentally, lighter than the hed3's).

I love the matching weave for the hed wheels and the fiberlyte chainrings.

It certainly reminds its owner that he's riding a Look bicycle quite well. I give it an 8.0, 9.0 with deeper wheels.

When the OP suggested it..pay attention. There will be a quiz later.

Whoa I didn't see this new pic! I know you were thinking all black but I think if you just took the red out and left the white, that would really be a one of a kind..really, really nice as it is though, better stem and decals..:thumb::thumb::thumb:

True, but I was thinking along the lines of comparing the ones posted here. I think this is one of the best threads going, and the point system allows for a little wiggle room and less chances someone gets insulted. Least ways this threads about bikes and pictures of bikes, and not some other off the wall stuff that should be in FOO..... Great thread..:thumb: Doing some mods to my Venge and Lynskey and will throw them into the skillet for frying...:innocent:

9.0 with the Edge wheels. Not a fan with the HEDs, sorry.

Not a biggie- there's some stuff I can't stand- one time on another forum I made a comment that I thought some "vanilla" colored gunnar frame looked more like a puke colored one and caught hell for it. The steel frame itself was nice, but IMO it was just butt ugly- to each their own!

z_hammer 12-28-11 10:40 AM

Had this since June and finally had a chance to post.

Aesthetically speaking, it's a not. Stem, seatpost, and wheels make it look like a bloody (pun intended) mess.

Thanks - yeah, it was hard for anyone to have a 'hot' bike anymore because a pretty lofty bar had been set. I've seen a lot of bikes that I thought looked nice in this thread but they couldn't compare to the likes of the super weight weenie Scott posted a while back and the like.

I have to admit though, that if anyone gets actually upset about anything in this thread they are taking it and BF waaaaay too seriously. ;)
