and that was the point of the build. simple, understated, and ordinary with top level italian parts. its fun to hear others opinions. cant wait to get new wheels on my tommasini. that is hot.

record components on a relatively inexpensive Taiwanese frame is not hot, it may ride nice but this thread is about vanity, no one is stopping you on the road and asking about your bike

yeah, i wanted others opinions on the appearance of my bike. that is why i posted it. you could call it hot or ugly and it wouldnt change my opinion of it.

and you are wrong. i get a lot of comments about this bike on group rides. less informed people thing it is really expensive and more informed people ask how it rides or ask what the back story is.

Hot compared to the other bikes sold at performance bike

we really don't need to take up multiple pages bickering back and forth about an aluminum Scattante in a thread where 65% of the bikes are greater than $5k. I happen to like the Scat myself TGB, but can totally understand how people say it's a little bland for THIS thread. Either way, I am sure it is a sweet riding bike, but a Honda with an AMG makeover is still a Honda. (Just a nicer one)

However, pretty much all the bikes on the previous page I would take home to ride like the hottest dancer in the strip club. I love going through this thread every so often just to reinvigorate my motivation for improving, both myself and my bikes.

thirdgenbird 10-23-11 02:28 PM

I agreed it is not a top caliber bike. I just wanted others opinions. If there were a ugly or not thread I woulda posted there.

Ugly crank, pump, saddle bag, low saddle to bar drop, pictured in small ring, looks off the peg...

So basically, take everything off and put the saddle up for the BF pic (now HOT), then put it all back on and adjust the saddle to fit for riding.

don't worry - thirdgenbird is just grumpy because JSS didn't like his bike, so he's passing it on to you ;)

i like that november.

the bike looks good but i think the angle at which you took the picture and the fact that your in the small ring makes the bike look less appealing

3kmi 10-23-11 08:24 PM

Left handed bike? Not hot!:innocent:

Plus, clean your room. Or sell the Zipps and hire a maid.

ilovecycling 10-23-11 09:11 PM

The November is definitely hot, but IMO it should be sporting some November wheels to match.

How do you like your TRP brakes? My LBS had them installed on a Cannondale SS Evo and they felt really nice when pulling the brake lever. They almost had a very light spring feel to them, but not squishy. I don't know much about them though. I'm assuming they are weight weenie brakes like the KCNC brakes, but I think the TRPs look better.

All true. I should have read more of this thread before posting the picture. Would have been easy to take pump off, get it on big ring, lift saddle. couldn't have some much about crank though, and yeah it's off the peg.

despite all of that it really is a very nice bike. the crankset isnt even that bad, just not hot worthy. the new dura ace and ultegra are worse. if i saw you out on the road the only thing i would question is the huge saddle bag. i am a pocket guy.

Thanks for the feedback. I know the error of my ways now. Will do better next time ;)

That saddlebag is handy. I can fit 2 spare tyres, a full toolkit, a workstand, and a spare frame in there :innocent:o
