What happened to the caad? I thought this was getting eps?

Still have the caad9. Not sure what to do with it. The fork is cut too short to where I am forced to use a short (~8mm?) headset spacer with a 2.5mm spacer and that's it. Also, it's a size smaller than the Look (54cm vs 56cm) so the head tube is already on the shorter end of what I can work with. It took riding a century on it to make me realize that I was putting too much stress on my lower back. Going back to the Look it's amazing how much more comfortable the drops are to use. I can actually use them.

As for eps on the 595, I'm not so sure I need it anymore. Honestly, the Record 11 shifting is so sweet and reliable both in the rear and up front that I can't justify the cost right now. The other issue is I don't want to ruin the aesthetics of the frameset by having to route the wiring externally and modifying the frame for internal wiring just scares me. I'll probably just wait another year or so for the EPS components to become more available and cheaper before I think about building a separate EPS bike.

Just now seeing this.. yes, my credit card is taking a deep breath and is about to jump over the edge... or should I say Zipp.

Deep rims are like bacon. They make everything better.

yeah, a pair of 808s, or even a sub 9 rear would be bacon on her bike for sure. :)

The backup to the Ridley. I'm pretty sure this build is done, with the exception of the FD which arrives tomorrow.

You have officially made me scared to post any of my bikes in my own thread. I hate you.

love this

c0lnago 05-31-12 08:39 PM

That is atrocious.

Caad 10 is super cool/hot if you are a domestique on a race team. If not, that frame doesn't look right with wheels that deep.

IthaDan 05-31-12 09:47 PM

I'm convinced there is nothing with wheels that looks bad in Gulf colors.

I like that bike better than the ridley, is that weird?

Wow very nice man. The Gulf color are just off the hook.

Imo..the front wheel looks too deep. Maybe down to a 60mm?

I swear anything with the Gulf colors brings it up a notch. I would put a Gulf sticker on the CAAD10. Ebay has em.

Gulf Ducati,

I agree! A Gulf Ducati? Sweeeeet!

I have a pretty cool collection of diecast Gulf 917's and other Porsches. And on Forza I try to make my cars in the Gulf scheme if they're available. And, Le Mans is finally out on blu-ray.

Back on topic, love that "Gulf" Cannondale.

What's the blacked out chain on this? It really completes the sinister look.

I was curious about the chain and bottle cages.

This would be hotter without those deep wheels.
