Man I really like the paint scheme on that S-Works! Crank updates look fantastic. Those bottle cages are a bit scary though. Full carbon wheels would definitely put the icing on the cake. Hot.

It's just that your bars are turned WAY up, which points to a need to have the hoods a bit closer to you. In a perfect world, the bottoms of the bars are parallel to the ground, which would have you reaching far forward to rest on the hoods.

I'm not a fit nerd/fit expert, though. When I set my bike up, I kept the "cool kids" in mind when it came to bar position. :p

I just think its the pic that makes them look strange, they aren't that turned up, you are probably right though, shorter stem prob the ticket

sorry its not bigger, you can see full size if you click on it.

It is a trek 1420 that I found in my ex girlfriends, grandmothers garage and gave it new life. It is a sweet frame that is bonded aluminum, it is very snappy and quite comfortable for aluminum. Took me a while to get used to the downtube shifters but they are pretty much maintenance free which is conveniente.

I have pieced it together for as little money as possible, I have probably put around 300 into it.

New tires, ea70 wing bars, new fizik bar tape, my old spd's, old Thompson elite offset seatpost, specialized saddle and stem from an allez that was stolen from me.

I recently changed the pads and chain which were the original from 1993 I believe.

What do you all think, I, quite happy with it myself. Im thinking of either a new carbon fork or sram ss break levers. Maybe a new rear wheel but other then that I love it,

SO sexy, probably one of my favorites in here. You don't need all new top of the line parts to make a bike look sexy and this definitely proves it.

Class ≠ pricetag

So damn Sexy/Hot!!!

Always loved the Triple Triangle frame design by GT, even though they didn't get much love.
How did you manage to find one in Ti?

gamby 08-23-12 11:37 PM

Yeah, that's pretty redonk (in a good, very good way). I love semi-oddball stuff like this.

My only concern would be that the brake hoods seem to be hanging pretty low on those bars. Could just be me being used to newer-style bars, though.

updates:

- Switched out old SRAM Red FD for a 2012 Red FD (was really really easy to install, and works great for the first quick ride). Old Red FD was great when dialed-in, but could be finicky upon installation.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8421/7...21454462_c.jpg
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8293/7...75c69ce4_c.jpg

- went with the matching Ritchey Classic seatpost. The Thomson Masterpiece setback was a marvel of engineering but I like it better matching and like the 25mm of setback (compared to the 10mm of the Masterpiece).

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8438/7...56654b64_c.jpg

- Ritchey Carbon Logic Curve Handlebars. Same curve as the Ritchey Classic Curve in Polished aluminum- but now add another level of comfort to an already very comfortable steel bike.

LOL!

Don't get me wrong, I really like this bike! definitely HOT!

But, writing that you "don't need all new top of the line parts" about a bike with all SRAM Red components is... well, it pretty much actually has "all new top of the line parts".

Blue cables maybe?
Some sort of something blue on seat/bars?
Blue skewers would look good.

I really like the blue pin striping, but the tires are too much.

You're a little late to the game there... he's already removed the pinstriping and the tires.
