Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Well, technically, they are the same. The front is carbon tacx, the rear is aluminum tacx. The bars are Easton EC70 wing and the post is EC70 with a Selle Flite '92 saddle. Full 7800 DA with C1 carbon brakes. I'll look into the deacl suggestion. Thankx!

They can't be the same AND different. Technically Aluminum isn't carbon fiber and black isnt silver.

I guess I don't understand the point of 31.8 if you're going to have the stem that high. It may be very slightly stiffer but the black new parts clash, and there is no shortage of nice looking classic bend silver bars with 26.0 clamps. There are even two compact 26.0 handlebars (Civia Emerson and Soma HWY 1) that are available in silver if you want to run modern compact bars with a quill stem.

Idk, I'm just not feeling them on this bike. Without the red on the frame, it just looks odd to me. Though maybe it does "compliment"/excuse the red stripe on the 3T Team seat post...

I think the bike has potential. Maybe needs a better picture, shadows kinda distract. It also needs a better photo angle. The angle it was taken makes it look like it has a weird stem angle/bar angle. I dislike the white saddle/tape/pedals on this also but that's just my thoughts. If you had black bar tape, saddle and pedals I don't think the red on the wheels would be any kind of issue at all.

The newest ride (15.76 lbs. as pictured):

Some minor fitment adjustments still needed. Bars need to be rotated down a little...

I'll see if I can't get a better photo. I don't have a white garage door, so this was the best I could do in my hurry to get a photo before the sun set for the day. "Hand of God" isn't always easy to achieve, so I'll see what I can drum up. Understood on the white details, but I personally dislike black bar tape, it just looks boring. However, I think you're right about the red issue becoming a non-issue if I did switch it. Time to look at saddles again...

I always felt the same way about black bar tape. I used charcoal for the longest time. Then started thinking about the gloss black and I love it. Got some glossy black fizik microtex and it just pops! dont know how it would look on your bike being that it has a flat matte finish, but still another option when black feels boring.

I completely agree with you, that gloss black looks amazing compared to the "normal" appearance of the usual black bar tape choices. I'll think about wrapping them in black next time just to take a look. It's not just the frame that's matte though, I've got a 3T Ergosum Pro bar so that's a matte finish too. With the saddle a glossy black, it might be pretty sharp looking anyway.
