I consider it quite an accomplishment to come across as ridiculous on this thread.

Finished setting up the race bike for this year. When the weather clears it will give me a chance to repost when I mount the Boyd tubs :)

Hot

I have a question for you guys. I know that most bars look best with the bottoms level or almost level but I don't believe that applies to these. What do you all think?

Bottoms level with ground OR pointing at rear brakes. It looks like yours are pointing at the rear brakes. Might want to rotate them down a smidge. Post pics as soon as your build is finished!

Ew. Ergo bars look even worse without tape. (If you couldn't tell, I like more of a classic bend.)

I think a classic bend would look much better on there as well. Wheels first though.

Pardon my ignorance, but whats the red spoke for? I know a lot of people do this near the valve stem to help quickly locate it, but yours isn't near the stem and when I look closely it looks like an extra special spoke compared to the others? Am I just stupid?

That's just how the Ksyrium SL's are made.

Ahh, I am just stupid. Haha, knowing how much nice wheelsets cost and the fact that I just bought my bike, I haven't done much wheel research yet.

Thanks for the heads up.

Edit to add: thanks for not being harsh on my noobness everyone.

No worries, it wasn't a dumb question at all. I wish I had a better answer.

Thanks. If I wasn't an idiot and paid attention to the difference between BB30 and PF30 I would be riding it tomorrow. :o

Those are perfect position, personally I don't like ergos...shallows would be perfect IMHO. Those wheels are one of my favorites, and are built like tanks...it didn't look well on my Venge so I sold mine. This is a perfect example, of a Hot bike is a Hot bike regardless if its finished or not. This one is going to be smokin!!

Needs a splash of colour.

Personally, I'd actually rotate them up a bit, keep the tops more level, otherwise it makes a bit of a funny angle with the hoods.

Those bars will be ugly at any angle. Sorry.

Sadly, yes. Classic or shallow drops are the only good looking road bars, IMO.

The rest of the bike is certainly hot, though.

Just okay to my eyes. Maybe its the white saddle that throws me off. I'll never be a white saddle kind of guy, and it clashes visually for me, sorry.

Wrong. If you rotate them up any further the drops would be useless in a sprint because your forearms will hit the top bar. As is, it would be close. The hoods can be moved down.

Unless those bars are one of your favorites or you are just set on using them, I'd look into trying a different style. But I understand thats not always a priority or a financial option.

Yeah but this is the Hot r Not thread. Looks trump function. He can rotate it to any angle he wishes after the official presentation of the bike (when it's ready)

Saddle works...red on the stem clashes with the yellow and green. Nice bike though.
