The BMC needs less red, not more.
The frame is subtle but beautiful in its own right and garish red parts easily overpower it. Some nice matte black tape will be fine and help the frame to stand out. Lose the white cages for the same reason. Matte black or grey will be fine. Get the light off the bar and put it under an out-front mount. Put the chain on the big front ring and middle sprocket in the rear when you photograph the bike. The derailleur is all folded up with it crosschained small/small. It is Dura Ace for crying out loud - let it show. -Tim- |
Trying this again (media fail)...

I like white, and it might look OK here, but black is definitely the safer bet. What might be interesting would be a something like oxblood. I think Brooks made cordovan leather tape, but it's probably hard to come by and you probably want something less vintage-y for this. |
Cordovan? :foo:

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4739/...551d55a9_c.jpg Hot. The only thing I would entertain the idea of changing would be to swap out the silver headset bits, and derailleur cable stops with black, but that's it. :thumb: |

Did you change the stem? If so, why? |
Is that stem a 140mm? 150?

Saddle bag, not hot. Frame pump, not hot. Dust pan, not hot. Other than those things, and the red on the saddle rails, not too bad. |
This is a tough crowd ;-) Remember guys:
- Clean it - Shoot the drive-side - Drive-side crank level or in line with chain stay - No shadows - Big ring; middle of cassette - get that rear derailleur vertical - No saddle bag or bar clutter - No bottle - And for godsake, make sure your valve stems and tire logos are aligned! (I bet I'm missing something) https://forum.ih8mud.com/media/car-c...tte.64272/full |

I like it, not sure of the degree of hotness but definitely in the hot zone.

I'm just here to keep the train of image quotes going. Nothing better than having to scroll through multiple copies of the same image one after the other. At least this one is not actually 5312 x 2988 pixels I guess.

I did a little upgrading today
Scarlett Johansen might be hot all the time in real life, but she can still look bad in a badly taken photo. |
