Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Updated my 03 Litespeed Arenberg. Swapped the wheels from my Kuota, and got rid of the 105 triple groupset for full Ultegra. I got the entire groupset for under 350 bucks. I would have liked a more up-to-date groupset, but I am pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Aesthetically; the stem is too short, the saddle is too forward, and my skewers are all jacked up, but it fits. The hoods also look a little strange. I might have to play with them a little.

I'd hate to have to close this thread. Really would.

You guys better let it go, don't care who or what started it, just let it go and get back to normal.

Thanks. You are probably right. My wife's bike also has an early version of the 6700, and she has the same chainrings on hers. I don't know what they are, except for the brand.

They're the chainrings that come with the FCR 600 and FCR 700 compact cranksets.

That makes sense now...
I have the Dura Ace 7800, they look similar but not exactly the same as those rings.

Ok...so after my last post...which was summarily widely regarded as not hot....here is the before and after since today's visit to VeloSwap...

Before:

And after...

I think I want to go to black tape...red was the only thing I had in the garage and the old black stuff was trashed. And if I do that, not sure about the white saddle.

Looks nice. But what really bothers me about this bike is the short stem and the saddle pushed ALL the way forward. It leads me to believe that the bike is too big for you. Just my honest observation. Check your fit.
Cheers
