Hot Venge.

Well done!

Nice bike! I'm mainly jealous of the fact that you live in OC. It's a nice picture too.

Nicely hot.

I threw this together over the weekend, so I can sell some of my inventory. I forgot how nice that frame looks built up. Pearl white Nashbar frame.

Very sleek, and good balance of black and white. Quite hot

You know, the Venge is a nice bike and this one is nicely built up with high-end parts/wheels. Yet, I find the shape and profile of the top tube on the Venge to look more mountain bike-like and less road bike-like. Yes yes, I am sure that the head tube is very stiff as this bike frame is suppose to be all of that, but aesthetically, it does not do it for me.

i like the white and black nashbar. it is clean and sleek and remarkably logo free. perfect girls' bike.

Not crazy about colored tires but this build pulls it off perfectly with the rest of the black/white mix. Simple and clean but HOT at the same time.

This is as good as a bike can get, also the background.

This is a nice bike! Someone many pages ago likened the aesthetics of the sloping top tube bike to a dog taking a dump and I admit that I can't unsee that anymore, so that affects me. But this is a hot large bike. What size is this frame?? The head tube is so tall (and I'm a 6'3" guy so I get it) that it does take away… Sort of like when I buy shoes, the model shoe looks great, then I pull out my size and they look like skis. So I think this bike would look better in a more modest size, but you can't ride that, I get it. Love the bike though!

I'm in the school of matching bar tape and saddle. Trying to decide if that's a hard and fast rule on the white bike. Fairly hot.

This is a very nice budget build. But I wouldn't call it hot. It's done well, but there's nothing that grabs you… Plus, you have white bar tape… :p

I agree with this. It's definitely a nice, clean looking build, but not a huge hot factor. Definitely a nice contender in budget hot or not, but it just doesn't have the wow factor.

I'm the Venge owner, I have a few specialized bikes, and I agree the sloping top tube isn't aesthetically the best, but the bikes themselves seem fantastic so I end up getting them. The Venge has a taller headtube I assume so people wouldn't need to use piles of spacers and they can keep that whole profile aero and stiff.

I think if I'd used bars with a deeper drop it'd look more aggressive, and I may end up doing that down the road. The drops still feel a little high to me when I'm trying to get in an optimized position.

I'm 6'1". I hear you on the shoe sizes too....they look great in size 6 but the 13's look like boats.

the tires are the soft rubbery things that get mounted on the hard wheel things

NathanC 03-11-14 05:54 PM

Well just finished it. Hope you guys aren't to hard on me here. ) it's a 2007 with a little 6700 and 5700. Rides awesome. Thanks for looking and sorry for indoor picture.

Indiancrazed 03-11-14 08:17 PM

jmX amazing to look at. No doubt a dream to ride.

spectastic 03-11-14 08:50 PM

I just realized this is the midlife crisis thread.

jk. hot bikes, especially the venge. damn.

though I have to say I prefer the classic look on the cervelo. If I ever get a better carbon bike, it'd probably be a cervelo

Valve stems too short, chain ring faux pas for staging purposes, otherwise not unpleasant to look at....
