Does an asphalt path count as a road, since it is a road for cyclists, and empty?

Not many straight, flat, recently paved roads around here. Here is one that was just paved 2 weeks ago. Just became my favorite section!

Wow. The road just goes on and on and on. Does not look like there are many food or water stops along the way though.

On Chicago's Bloomingdale trail (the "606" trail), a short little thing I'd never ridden before. Somehow I missed all the rain but I heard a lot of thunder and some neighborhoods really got drenched. Also said Hi to another Bianchi rider, which doesn't happen often around these parts.
