Farther east, as I recall. One of those stages southeast of Sacramento. One that went down toward Modesto.

Another one from the Amgen Tour. This was south on 10th Ave (west of Corcoran CA) in the 2009 stage 5 from Visalia to Paso Robles.

Not an empty road, but this is above the Hollywood sign.
