Here are some pics from Amelia Is. FL earlier this month.

I pulled over to take this pic. One minute later, after I got under way again, I was left hooked by a car and my bike was totally destroyed. RIP Lemond Zurich.

This is the 2012 Tour de Palm Springs. Windy as heck. One of many dust storms looming ahead...

The road to Lordsburg, NM...had just left Stafford, AZ and decided to bypass a section of the Southern Tier route due to local comments about no shoulder roads and very high mine related truck traffic.

Great photos everyone! :thumb:

Shifty - how steep is that nasty pinch on Heartbreak Hill? Would be heartbreaking given it is in full sight on the approach and shows the angle!

Loving the photos from Japan. Not a place that immediately spring to mind as a riding destination, but those roads look great.

They say it's 15%, I think that's correct. On the century ride a high percentage of the riders were walking it. But, even worse than that hill can be the winds on the Santa Fe Century. The century is coming up later this month, give it a shot.

I'm loving the picture with the giant snow walls near the road.

Here's one I took on the way up to Col de la Croix de Fer, looking back towards Lac de Grand Maison.

And this is heading into the Chartreuse mountains just north of Grenoble.

Bit far to come from Australia Shifty, but it does look good!

@giantcfr1 - where in Japan is this? Much good riding in the area?

Nice Speedwobbles - first pic is just before the left turn to the Col du Glandon? I spent a month in the French Alps last August - September (some photos earlier in this topic and additional photos and ride write up in my blog linked below).

Some impressive riding around Grenoble :thumb: Guess you are also riding in the equally beautiful but lesser known Vercors just to the west of Grenoble? Climbs are not as big as those to the east, but the Michelin rated three star roads cut into the cliffs are amazing!

wow that is just sick (in a good way) I'm in NJ and I will never see such a road...

I would be super nervous in fact.. I ride usually with only one spare tire on my rides... I guess cuz I feel like I will always be near enough something or somewhere to get help...

Thumbs up

Yes it is just before the Col du Glandon. I haven't cycled (just hiked/XC skied) in the Vercors but I plan on it this summer. To go out to Alpe d'Huez and stuff like that I need to ride about 40-45km but I can be climbing into the Vercors within about 5km of my apartment. I just took a really quick look at your blog, I'll have to check it out in more detail later... do you post exact routes? I'm thinking of doing a bunch of rides where I cross the Vercors by various routes and then take the train back to Grenoble.

Didn't know that's what it was called. Cool. Any chance those vids are online? Would like to check it out. This was the end of March and the lack of snow was more or less statewide this year.
