If we're doing France...

More photos from the Aveyron and Tarn et Garonne, southwestern France. In August 2009 my wife and I spent a month here wandering around on bikes and in a borrowed car.

Road to Sanvensa, near where we were staying.

Agreed! I spent a month in the French Alps just riding last August-September and had an amazing time riding all the col's that you see during the TDF!

A couple from when I rode an anti-clockwise loop from Briancon to the Col Agnel (Col Agnel road photo posted earlier) and over the Col d'Izoard.

This thread should be hidden in winter. It's just too cruel.

Had the day off work last Friday, so I decided to sleep in and then roll the legs over along Beach road. It was a bit warm, already over 30 when I left home and well on the way to the forecast maximum of 35. Saturday was hotter again and hit 38!

Beach road is a very popular training route for cyclists in Melbourne, Australia. Starting only a few kilometres from the CBD, it follows the east side of Port Phillip bay and offers great water views with some long streches sans lights.

Usually swarming with bikes over the weekend, these photos show the road as quiet as you can expect them...

The first two are somewhere west of Port Perry and the wacky trail is about 10KM from Lindsay. Circumnavigation of Lake Scugog Gravel Ride.

I haven’t looked at all the photos on this thread, but the ones I have are beautiful, and all seem rural. Here’s an urban one that I see often on my daily commute. It’s on the Avenue Louis Pasteur in Boston, looking toward the Harvard Medical School. I’m intrigued by how the center line bisects the columns of the portico.

My current local training routes are pretty boring, so instead I thought I'd post a few more from my month last Autumn in the French Alps.

Barcelonette loop - 4673m elevation over 120km. Three cols - Col de la Cayolle 2326m, Col des Champs 2080m, and Col d’Allos 2250m.

This is in a corner of the Paint Rock Valley in North Alabama. I climbed up the "mountain" and took this pic after I lost traction on a slippery spot on the road:

I still had a ways to go to get to the top:

Easy to find country roads with nobody else on them. How about downtown Dallas at about midday?
