I've said it before, I'll no doubt say it again.....

Aussies are the best bike racers in the world.

climbo 06-16-05 05:14 PM

no arguments from me on that one :)

So Tiger, what's this all about. I can't be shagged reading 50 pages of literary crap to get to the good stuff.

Give me design, pricing and sizes...

The pretty pics are here: http://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.p...postcount=2471
but the colours are waaay better than what you see in those images. Much sharper. And the cut is perfect for Aussies, not lanky european beanpoles, which is a small bonus.

So it has an elastic gut chamois?

Lookie what I did on the weekend.

And...errr......no, no elastic gut chamois, but it does have three 'stubby holders' in the back. ;)

ed073 06-16-05 09:03 PM

Jeez those pics are big!!

climbo 06-16-05 09:12 PM

looks like a nice picnic :D , where's the riding pics?

jock 06-16-05 09:46 PM

The FS looks like it only has 1/4 wrap on the front dereilleur. Every had any probs with chain slip/wear? Or thought of adding another jockey wheel to get more wrap?

Thylacine 06-16-05 10:00 PM

Well, as we only had one camera and I was the guy trying to keep up with the younger whipper-snapper, pix were only snapped during breaks.

Yeah, the problem with the FS proto is that it only has two front rings. Although in theory the wrap should be enough to make the Granny gear work, I've never found one with the right tooth profile. Thought about adding a chain device, but three years on, I'm putting effort into the new FS proto instead. When I do have a spare grand though, I'm sticking a Rohloff in the back.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....163169130&rd=1

the chain's too short, anyway

Never heard of "Koln" bikes

Former Jayco, Team Coast etc etc professional. Raced a lot in Germany with McGrory.

Thylacine 06-16-05 11:22 PM

Thank you, but I much prefer 'Thylacinus the Almighty'

ed073 06-16-05 11:23 PM

yeah....for an old bloke. Does the turnaround at the top of Olivers, or takes the short cut through to Mt Eliza.

Plenty of fat dudes don't get that far.
