I didn't see any there. They're big on Giants though.
|
i'm sure it would be special order...
F'in trucks, why do they think it's OK to try and kill bicyclists? What a lovely morning :) |
Must be one of those days climbo. Although I have to say that I had nice open discussion about cyclist behaviour with a cager with a loud horn and mouth. To my surprise he was able to calm himself down and discuss things in a pretty reasonable manner. When I left him behind in the Pacific Hwy parking lot I think he was only half-miffed instead of being psychotic and deranged! :)
|
yeah well I left a nice message on the company directors phone, he called me back to say that he had spoken to the driver and his supervisor, he now realises the mistake he made and understands he needs to be more aware of cyclists on the road.
So there, my advocacy for cyclists rights is done for today. :) |
Climbo, Thylacine - do you guys know if Hayes HFX 9 levers are compat with Shimano LX/XT hydro disk brakes?i would assume no, but i just need to know for sure.....
|
Not sure. I've never tried it myself.
Couple of things fellas. Firstly, putting an overseas order in next week for parts, so if you need something, let me know. Also, looks like I'm getting into Scandium. In negotations with a guy who's an awesome welder, so the first couple of orders I'm going to do for an insanely low price just so I can get some rolling billboards out there. This will only apply to the first 4-5 frames, so if you're in the market, you need to look me up. Or you can buy a Teschner 15th Anniversary. :) |

hey Thylo, you see that Columbus Zonal Learsport in Kathy Watt's window for $699?
|
The Teschners are 10 grand.
Nope, didn't see that bike, Nev - I usually swerve to avoid ****. |
$699 is pretty cheap for a frame and fork, isn't it?
What's the cost on a Zonal tube set? |
Zonal is pretty standard, workhorse tubes, so probably no more than probably 120us at the wholesale level.
Of course, there's a huge difference between me buying a tubeset and some company in China who makes 10,000 Zonal frames a year. |
Gunna put a set of wheels on ebay...you blokes have first opportunity to buy:
Front and rear, Mavic CXP33 with Ultegra Hubs/Skewers. SS double butted spokes. These bad boys were built by Colorado Cyclist and have about 3500kms on them. Both are dead straight. I'm thinking around $200, but am open to offers which are reasonable...I live in Sandringham and am prepared to post but will add a few bucks to box up properly. |

My wife asked why the plastic Colnago is $10k. You could build a tandem for that much.

Yeah, TiSports and Teschner is the same thing. He imports Easton goodies (including tubesets) and puts a high (or is that average Australian?) mark-up on them so that nobody else can realistically build Easton tubed bikes here. That's almost as good as Shimano Australia registering every Shimano trademark under the sun so that when anyone imports Shimano they pull them up for trademark infringement. Hello ACCC? *knock, knock* Anyone home? Farken Melbourne weather, I swear. So I stick my head out the front door, sun is shining, BEWWDIFULLL, shorts and short sleeves weather. Get to Yarra Bvld to hang some nasty hill laps, and in marches the black clouds. Yup, got p¡ssed on, froze me arse off. |
So those Teschner things are made here then? I guess that's better than being made in Vietnam right? :p

I had no idea 'til I read that review in Ride. |

However, this whole 'commercial vs residential' mortgage thing is a retrogressive red-tape pain-in-the-arse. Has anyone else noticed, that whatever you try to accomplish in this world, there is always a major hurdle that's there for absolutely no good reason appart from purely making things difficult? |
