Congrats as well... Only 4 weeks left at this one then I go on my big adventure OS and try my luck over there. I am excited. Will be good to do some touring while over in Europe as well I think.

The seat looks mighty comfy tho... 1984 Concor by any chance?

No they were ok. I've since fitted a modern set of tri bars and I'm using the bike for TT's. The bike is under 10kg which while not light by today's standards is good enough what I need at present. Mind you I bought an almost new 10sp veloce Orbea off Ebay, carbon forks and seatstays and found it was over 10k!!!
Yep Concor Light, best seat I've ever owned.

Southern California, home of the hottest non-Aussie wimmin around. Geez.

Expat is one of these, SoCal I think.

Guilty as charged. I'm an export.

Nice one Climbo, hope you're not pawning bikes and eating spam to finance the job on the coast ;)
Might have to seriously start looking myself!

Brian 03-31-05 02:10 AM

Work is very over-rated. Trust me.

berny 03-31-05 02:23 AM

Anyone who sells their life for Freekin money aint right in the noggin.

rockmuncher 03-31-05 04:34 AM

531 - Sorry to have missed your antipuking tip. Today's ride was a nice warmup then follow the undulating road. Sprints start 30m before the top of each little climb. Nasty.

Climbo - well done on scoring a local job. Your missus will be so happy until she finds out that you're simply substituting bike riding for commuting :D Oh yeah, and thanks for the derby info.

Berny - I am deeply saddened to hear that you like your Concor. I was going to make you an offer for they are a brilliant bit of gear.

Brian 03-31-05 04:37 AM

I have an Ultegra crankset and BB on the way. I shall use them as paperweights due to lack of interest.

rockmuncher 03-31-05 04:45 AM

Oh I'm definitely interested Expat, but I doubt very much whether my wallet can meet with your expectations :D

Brian 03-31-05 04:55 AM

Does that mean you think I'll have a high asking price, or just that you have more important financial obligations?

rockmuncher 03-31-05 05:12 AM

well there's this guy that I owe $50 bucks for a lighting system, then there's this other guy that I owe $1800 for some bike I bought, then there's the track bike fund, oh yeah... and the wife wants a house

Brian 03-31-05 05:19 AM

Mine wants a house too. Funny that. When the cranks arrive, I'll give you first shot at setting your own price. I'm still a newlywed, so I gotta go now. Email next time you're in town for a ride.

Sorry muncher. They're a tad heavy is all but oh so comfy.

You bet your biscuits they are. After enduring my current saddle for six months in the hope that it will conform to my butt I'm going to have to do a Concor transplant on my training bike. The old bennett just won't looke the same without it. :(

Is it just me or so modern saddles make the old hard leather arse-busters feel like a hemmoroid pillow by comparison?

I have an Italia TT flight on my RR bike and it's pretty (165gms) good but a tad wide and hurts early on in a ride until I settle in. I got a Fiz'ik Aerone with my new GT and it has seams down the middle which annoy the crap out of me. I've got a bunch of other seats I've collected over the years but they're all rubbish. No the old Concor beats the ***** out of all the newer ones.

yeah, trading in kidneys from Asia might be the way to go instead :)

Brian 03-31-05 03:54 PM

We've had good luck with Body Geometry, but they may not be expensive enough for you skinny tire types.

climbo 03-31-05 03:56 PM

anyone going to Calga Saturday at 2pm? I'll be there but not racing.

rockmuncher 03-31-05 05:03 PM

That's the plan so far for me, but my wife might have other ideas this weekend.

I already have a green light for the CD race at Muswellbrook next weekend, so I spose I'd better buy my fluro orange getup.

Oh yeah. That day I saw a big guy going the other way on what I thought was a Scapin (turned out to be a Scattante, or whatever they're called), so a chased after him.

I catch him and say: "Ed"
he goes, "yeah"
I go, "what? Are you Ed?"
He goes: "yeah, but I'm guessing not the Ed you think I am"
Then he starts laughing, then I start laughing, then I piss off.:p

rockmuncher 03-31-05 08:09 PM

ROFLMAO. I hate when that happens
