Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: Scapin EOS7 sloping, 10v Record, Ksyriums

I got fooled by the missus today. And she normally has no sense of humour.

Bikes: 8 bikes - one for each day of the week!

Ok you skinny little skinny tire guys. I had my first real BMX race tonight. First race, came in 4 out of 5, which may have been charity, but I put in a decent effort to try to get 3rd. Second race, first turn, the unpleasant sound of my chain breaking. That's the 2nd chain I've broken, and on different bikes. There's always next week though.

Bikes: how long have you got?

oi,

just back form the 'tour of stupidity' ...aka 'tour of Baw Baw'.....that has gotta be the most insane climb in the history of cycling.....97 km from warragul to the top of Baw Baw....km climb from the gatehouse to the top....& blokes are high 5ing if they are doing it under 50 minutes!.....13% ave over the whole climb which makes it 2nd only to L'Angliru at the Vuelta, as the steepest climb blokes are silly enough to race up!....i was absolutely rooted by the time I got to the top....fair dinkum, I can only imagine how farked I woulda been If I had actually RIDDEN IT, instead o' being spares wagon & waterboy!

here's one of the whingey threads

https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=96546

Joe rigged the forum so that it looked like we'd been hacked, with a line through every bit of text, and every post accompanied by this green thing, but without the
fire-farts

I though it was kinda funny. The forum went into meltdown, with some people thinking it was the end of the world, some thinking it was funny, and some grumpy people whinging that it was childish and purile.

Bikes: how long have you got?

....childish & purile is this threads AKA!....I'm for it, 'specially cos the seppo's got so uptight about it!....Now...onto more important matters.....the busted 486 saga!....looks at this stage like they are gunna replace it (subject to some French dudes approval, which is apparently a formality)....what colour should I get?....the 05 models don'thave the same colour scheme. I'm not keen on the 'kelme' blue or the blue in the 'custom' models. I'm leaning toward the black & white in the 'customs'...check it out & let me know what ya's think

Don't flatter yourself. That describes quite a few of us. Or at least the over 30's.
