Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: how long have you got?

G'day all,

just back from the Oz masters RR......Hitchy duly shelled at 70km when the hammer went down!....mind you, i'd been chewing bar tape for the previous 50 km anyway!....65 km an hour, 60 blokes in single file cos of the wind is not my idea of fun!...man I'm glad to see the back of these masters 3 dudes, i've graduated to MM4 for next season.....will be the youngest instead of the oldest!.......planning my assault on the '06 RR already!.

Bikes: 8 bikes - one for each day of the week!

We're going to try to get in 2 rides this weekend, plus some BMX practice. It's not looking good with the weather though. I hope Munchie brought a life vest.

Where did you here about the cyclist getting fined?

I meant association football - I don't follow Aussie Rules.

I've never cycled across the narrows bridge as I don't ride SOR. The only time I get to cycle nowadays is to work as I'm too busy trying to finish renovating my house before I leave.
Plenty of nurses jobs go'n for sure, though sounds like to much politics involved for this black duck chics are good at diplomatic things, ill stick with freight deliveries, if somone wants to take on the bull bar, bring it on .
Heard on talk back radio about the cyclist gettig pinged , gee the coppers have only got stand at the lights in town and ping the J walkers if there that short of cash.
64 kmh down Murry street with trafic takes some balls, that section to king's park road is part of a cycling curcit.

Oi! I was so busy putting heaps on Wattshisname, I forgot the important news. My wife's mum calls me "Haffa" now. As in "Half an Aussie". As in, I am now a permanent resident!

Expat, so how does the job and now being a Haffa impact the plans on heading back to Bush Country? Congrats on being a resident of here though, I am sure that opens a few more windows of oppertunity for you and your family.

Looks like everyone on the job front is going good. I will update with my news then. I have decided that instead of getting a job here, I am packing up and heading to London to Live for a while and see what I can find over there. I can try and keep the thread alive at night time then.

Yeah I am a bit scared with the whole idea at the moment for it is a spare of the moment impulse decision that I have made to do this, but I know that once I get there, it will be worth it. The oppertunities for travel are going to be amazing, so well looking forward to it.

Just deciding whether to take teh MTB over with me straight away, will be summer there so not a bad thing.
