The plan is borrow a bike, meet at Maurice Mathes (bike shop, near the Gates Hotel Adamstown), commit OTB for an hour or so, cancel previous engagement and go to climbo's place for chamingas, worry about divorce after effects of beer wear off.

DOOOOODS, how good is this Melbourne weather?!!??!!
This is probably my favourite time of year -- it's warm enough, but the sea breeze off the bay is heaps cooler than it is in Jan

I done 115km yesterday, and today, with uni on holidays, I'm gunna go perving through Camberwell, then Chapel St., then up and down the beach 'til I bonk.

I don't need to be hearing this.

Burke Rd
Riversdale Rd
Toorak Rd
Chapel St
Fitzroy St
Beach Rd

repeat.

:D

A copper mate of mine used to have to patrol that area. Weird sh1t going on.

City is always good on warm days....young office crumpet + short skirts + lunchtime = excellent perve value.

Me and my mates always thought New St Brighton was excellent at either 8.30am or about 3.45pm....yummy mummys dropping the rug rats off at Brighton Grammar in the tight leggings and fitted shirts. Massive silver 4WDs as far as the eye can see.....:D

dbuckingham144 04-05-05 10:22 PM

Bah! and here I am stuck in an office with nothing worth while to look at! I dont need to be hearing this either.

Nice day here as well, wish I was at home or at least outside doing something that I like, rather than behind this machine :(

Where is Expat when I need him! Wouldnt mind getting an idea as to how much my MTB is worth. Got it up on ebay and have people asking if I can pull it off early, have no problems doing that, except not sure what price I should tell them :o

we've got jobs too but he seems real keen to impress the boss by not posting during work hours :)

Show us the link to your bike, you can take our misguided opinions until you get help from Expat.

Clarendon Street ain't bad either.

Don't you work near Albert Park, or something? The St Kilda Rd lunchtime perve ain't bad

Clarendon....definitely. I thought of a few more.

Lygon St
Swanston Walk
Acland St (excellent for a coffee stop.....celebrity hoo-ha everywhere)

I work on Albert Rd...so I can go for a run around either the Tan or APL at lunch. Some great units out there.

climbo 04-05-05 10:57 PM

not a bad bike, only 5 months old. New it was probably about $1,699 right? Then if you got over $800 that'd be what I would expect at a minimum, closer to $1,000 if you snag the right buyer who just looked at the 2005 model in the shops or something like that.

dbuckingham144 04-05-05 11:03 PM

Yeah think new it was around $1499 (got a bit of a discount for we bought 6 bikes at once). Yeah I was thinking anything above $800 would be good, but wasnt sure if I was being to optimistic.

Yeah, I forgot Acland. Bit hard to ride down when there's a tram, though:p

Your description sucks. You should list the specs by using the "Revise" option. You can't even tell it has disc brakes. Nothing personal, but you're going to get less just because of the poor description. You need to list the brand name of the brakes, the type of fork, wheels and hubs, and that it's Shimano LX equipped (if I recall correctly). You have no future in marketing. :D

[edit] the main photo is pretty classic, the guy on the lounge in the background.

Stop beating around the bush Expat and tell him exactly what you think!

climbo 04-06-05 05:19 PM

looking for a CHEAP road frame, about a 57-58TT, anything really that will take 130mm spaced rear, cheap, scratched whatever, for a commuter bike. Garage sales, old beaten race frames, anything.

Keeping my eyes on e-bay too, there are a few 58's but not exactly beater frames, over $200.

Thanks :)
