I can't wait until I try the Heinz Laksa next week. No doubt it will smell like rubber and taste like minestrone.

Google the history of the Heinz family. Tomato sauce for a hundred years or so. If it's not tomato sauce (KETCHUP to us yanks) don't even think of trying it. Heinz Thai Green Curry? And look what you had to do to make it palatable. Surely you've heard of stone soup? Try that. :D

I went and saw the Knights play on Father's Day last year. Wasn't so bad. I've never been one to watch sports on TV though, and only went to a few baseball games in the states, so it would take a lot to impress me. I played baseball for 3 years, and still have no interest in watching that. I find cricket to rank below golf or bowling in terms of excitement. Motorsports are ok, but I wouldn't know anyone racing at Bathurst. There you go, nearly $100/month for Fox digital, and it's all crap. We can't even get the Footy Show free to air over here, which is the best part of the sport in my humble opinion. TV sucks.

rockmuncher 04-14-05 06:08 AM

Note to 531 - the Knights are a Rugby League team, but that's pretty close to Aussie Rules I guess.

Note to Expat - the rest of what you speak is the truth

rockmuncher 04-14-05 06:10 AM

Hang on a cotton pickin minute, you're still considered a newly-wed aren't you? Posting at 10:05? Either you're doing something rool kinky or you're in the doghouse! :)

Yeah, I don't know how I know that, but I do:p. It's Newcastle, right?
NRL is close enough for a Septic, I guess.

I often catch Fatty and Sterlo late on Thursday nights.

Has Expat moved back home?

Correct.

Nope, Expat is still with us and in work!

BTW, I'm off to sleepy bo-bo's. So you're needed over in the Quiz Thread... have fun...

Don't you worry about us. Our DSL was down for a bit, and I had to send important emails out last night. I was in bed by 10:06.

Ace frame. Good enough for Robbie to win the green jersey on and finish 2nd to Cipo at Zolder.

Not this week, I need to make contact with wife and kids who are holidaying up north. So I'll race Minmi this week and Beaumont Rd next week.

Thanks for sorting wal out! I was looking for water again last week, but again none to be found. Thankfully I survived without having to resort to unspeakable acts. I can't see why they don't provide 20 litre container of water on a milk crate. I'd be happy to throw in $4 a week to buy a bag of ice if that's what's needed!

Speaking of Minmi, who do I ring to get some fluro orange clothing?

I agree on the water thing, basically he reckons nobody drinks it, especially when it gets colder in winter. I think it's bogus and we need to provide water so we don't have anyone dehydrating. I'd suggest bring it up on Tuesday if you're going (or I will), and if it gets enough backers, they'll pitch in for a container I'm sure. We already buy ice for the Cokes etc, whoever has that job can buy ice for the water jug. It's just going to take someone to find a jug and buy it basically. I can only find the big gatorade ones which are HUGE but $180.

Clothing, Damon or Steve Wickham.
[EDIT]

or we buy a big plastic container and a spout from a place like this, probably cheaper.

if not used for water, we can always brew beer in it :)

rockmuncher 04-14-05 07:01 PM

They already have 2 x 20litre ones according to Ray K, and I've got another one that I can donate.

Ray reckoned that the water always got hot in those drums, but I'm sure I can find some blankets and string to fix that problem too. Lazy bunch of moaners some ppl

climbo 04-14-05 07:16 PM

use plenty of ice, it should last a few hours I would think.

I think we should add 1 pound of salt per litre of water to ensure Munchie does not keel over with any unspeakable conditions :p

Your time will come pshaw....

I'm so h@rdcore, I've just ordered another pair of 180mm Dura-Ace cranks:p

I'm subscribing to the doctrine that it's best to keep the same crank lengths when switching from bike to bike, and there's no way I'm gunna ride one bike for the rest of my life, so......

how's that for justification:D

I'll avoid the obvious pun and point out that I wake up at 5:55 every single day, on the dot, regardless of how much sleep I've had, or what country I'm in. Yes, as long as I check my watch in flight, I will even wake up at 5:55 local time. I'm the first to admit it's rather freaky, but I haven't needed an alarm clock in quite some time. The last time I had one, I would wake up one minute before the alarm went off.
