how heavy has Ullrich been in past off-seasons?

Thylacine 05-01-05 10:36 PM

I missed Cycling Sunday on telly yesterday and I'm spewin' about that. That's like 4 weeks in a row I've missed it, gawddamit. Might have to try and postpone the sleep-in/brekky in bed/morning nookie next time....feel like I'm letting the side down.

Anyway.

Moving to Australia. Tough one. Here's my thoughts as a well travelled Aussie -

Upsides -

1) Lack of Bullcrap (except if you live in Sydney)
2) Fairly okay weather on a global scale I guess
3) Pretty laid back lifestyle
4) You can live cheaply here if you have to.
5) Amazing diversity ethnically which is great, esp in terms of food and festivals
6) Awesome geography, easy to escape the maddening crowds.

Downsides -

1) Everything is expensive here, except food and basics.
2) Yes, that includes the Internet and bikes.
3) Government sucks, too heavily taxed, hard road for small business.
4) Still good money to be had in IT (apparently).
5) We lick the US's arse, and kick Timor in the arse now that we 'saved' them.
6) Queenslanders are still allowed out of their state.

Congrats to berny on his top four finish....although......'E Grade'??? :P

You reckon I'M up at 10:30??!!

I've got a new VCR with 16 timer programs!

Thylacine 05-01-05 10:41 PM

Yeah, but you're Captain Spalding, so nobody expects you up before noon.

ed073 05-01-05 10:41 PM

Ullirch would have been up to high 80s, I reckon.

ed073 05-02-05 12:55 AM

I think so. It's a Pioneer.

climbo 05-02-05 01:03 AM

They had the Topfield one on the telly last night for $700 or so, 2 tuners and 80gigs

531Aussie 05-02-05 01:07 AM

the only thing in the whole world that I'm good at is I can program a vcr and understand a 24hr clock:)

531Aussie 05-02-05 01:12 AM

HEY ED, do you mostly only use Cycling News for news, or others?

that's a PVR or something....do disc burning capabilty I think. Only records onto a hard drive. but it records digital, whereas a DVD recorder converts to analogue before putting it on a disc.

I got out of two. Every friggen European country uses 24 time for everything....from train schedules to TV guides.

A little bit...they all want to practice English on you, so it's hard to get "immersed"....but the more rural you go, the more hardcore Dutchies you get.

I had some amusing traning rides trying to read street signs, though.

What's the water cooler chat about Lisa Lloyd's singing the other night?
