Yeah. What a ballzup. I started in B Grade.
I had done the coffee run in the rain with all me mates :rolleyes: the day before, and months of accumulated salt in the helmet was dripping into my eyes during the race like a nice combination of acid and razorblades. Stopped just before the outbound turn to rinse it out and abandoned. Duh: what was I thinking? It was a handicap. All I had to do was wait for A Grade to catch up and hitch a ride with them. Have no idea what happened after that. Did some experimenting on climbing Blood then went home before they finished. |
D grade won it, 3 guys blitzed the pack of D's and they beat everyone.

One tour with Big MAt Auber 95, which lost Auber struggled to pay wages and became div 2 Big Mat. I think he had another season after his tour year, then in div 2 proper, assuming Auber were only a dvi 2 like Casino/AG2R. He went to ? Now even when he won Giro stages, they would have been Piano for most of the 150-180 k, with Cipo on the lookout for belle donnas, and marshalling those on the front to slow down. Or did Sweet struggle with the disciplines and cultural barriers so far from Aus, hypothetically speaking if the Protour was ridden in Aus would he be ripping it up? Corey Sweet is doing well with Comnet Senges in Germnay. I think Credit Agricole gave him short shrift and a dud racing program because he was a Stewie ring-in. He is good enough to win Coup de France races. His brother was good enough to win the seaon Coup de France I think. Kirsipuu never goes over the mountains in the tour, and Sweet was hanging on to the Red Lantern there. I'm not sure what happened to Jaw Sweet, but I reckon Ed would. Seems like you know more about him than I do :) |

4am is normal during the week. It's the only time I can find two hours for myself. And I normally ride rain or shine, but this morning it just seemed too much to bear :( I feel like crap now, so I reckon a day off is a good thing. |

I had my first race on the weekend. Well it was an adventure race with a mtb component anyway. After 15 years of faithful service on my old Trek 920, my rear derailleur fell apart probably 10 km into the 25 km ride (after most of the downhill sections of course). Of all the times to happen. We came in 113 out of 150. Even most of the chicks beat us. Not an auspicious start to my racing career. :(
