Hell on Wheels shows the torture and the pain, the fear and the weaknesses of the men in the Tour de France, offering true insight and unprecedented access to the participants. We see the tears of those who are out of the race and the joy of those who suffered but fulfilled their biggest dream: to reach the finishing line of this hardest race of all”

Geez, and to think I paid 7 bucks to see it from the front row of the cinema! Worth a second look though, fersure. I shall pencil it in.

How cool is Zabel in it too, btw? What an officer and a gentleman.

Still, they're all a bunch of psychos.

So I've heard, So I've heard, So I've been told. :D

I really ticked off that he's not racing the tour this year (ie ever again). I think he was primed for another great effort but "there was no room for him on the team". What a load of <insert your own expletive>. Demigod one day, dogfood the next. Ain't cycling grand?

climbo 06-23-05 12:04 AM

Zabel, nothing left.

Hell on Wheels on SBS, saves me the DVD price :)

I'm going to at least try to scout a possible location for the CX race up there. :)

What about CX on the road from kariong to WoyWoy,... u got road, firetrail, little singletrack....?
Theres a firetrail runs from the lookout out past the gun club to the Aboriginal drawings too.

That's racing for ya. Zabel's probably too humble and loyal to tell T-Mobile to F off, too.

Anyhoo, hometime for this puppy. For fun, here's a sneek-peek at the latest Thylacine to come out of the den - S&S coupled Tephra, set up for light touring. No, that's not my linen, photo courtesy of happy customer.

He sleeps with it?

never seen it, thing with Calga is we basically already have permission to use the road, easy parking, everybody knows where it is already. Show me where you mean, it might be worth a look.

He had plenty left at the end of last year's tour, he just let the youngsters get too far ahead in the flat stages.

climbo 06-23-05 06:20 AM

this weekend will be packed with painting the deck, chopping wood and looking after Kiri. Probably no riding, if anything a short road ride early if it doesn't pour rain.

531Aussie 06-23-05 12:31 PM

you guys seen this?

hope it's real

climbo 06-23-05 04:06 PM

yep, it's going to be a great start to the Tour coverage.

climbo 06-23-05 04:08 PM

We also beat the Poms finally.... they were 3 for 6 at one stage. Gough top scored for them with a last wicket stand of 50 or so.

And with "bad boy" Symonds ripping in to them to get man of the match.

PaulBravey 06-23-05 04:25 PM

I knew the summer of success had to end eventually - we finally lose to the aussies and Tim Henman exits early from Wimbledon. Oh the humanity :D

jock 06-23-05 04:34 PM

Doesn't he always? :p

"In Australia, Victoria's first closed-circuit racing and training facility purpose-built for road cyclists was announced today."

scroz 06-24-05 02:44 AM

I thought that's what they did the upgrade on the pacific highway between Kingscliff and Murwillumbah for...

PaulBravey 06-24-05 05:15 PM

Can anyone translate 'sooky' for me?

Brian 06-24-05 07:18 PM

Mopey, whiney, being a baby. My dog gets sooky when my wife isn't home.
