not necessarily. If you like it sure but some companies do sloping, some don't so it depends what bike you're looking at. I'd say go for overall fit and feel, not sloping vs. traditional.

But seriously, if you buy a properly fitted bike then construction method versus rider size is not a consideration. Either will work for you. The compact frame is design to be stiffer about the drivetrain (for roadies that means possibly faster acceleration), that's all. I'm the same height as you and ride a normal geometry frame. Hasn't hurt me so far. |
