Campy chain compatibility (sorry ...)

Campy chain compatibility (sorry ...)
I tried to search for the answer to this as I know it must be on the forum here somewhere, but couldn't find the answer.
What are my options in terms of running a non-Campy chain with my Centaur 10 speed group. I'd like something that will make removing the chain less of a procedure.
Thanks!

If removing the chain is the main issue, there are a variety of "master link" solutions available. The Superlink IV (available from Lickton's) seems to be widely recommended.

The Wipperman Connex is the easiest to install and remove. The 5.9mm 10 speed link works with the Ultra Narrow chains. Even the older 6.1mm link is OK, too.
I've gotten really high mileage out of my Campagnolo chains, and they work great with this connector. I reused the same Connex link with the new chains.

Excellent! Thanks!
I've gotten a ton of miles from my current Campy chain so I might go with the Wipperman link suggested above. If I have a hard time finding one I may go with sram in the meantime and that way I'll have checked out all my options.

This is good info. I'm going to be putting on a new Campy cassette for the spring and I was cringing at the cost of both cassette and chain.

Bikes: are better than yours.
6.2mm chains don't run well on drivetrains designed for 5.9mm chains. I wouldn't try the reverse either. Make sure you get the right 10 speed chain. The lickton superlink left me calling for a ride. I prefer the KMC missing link and keeping a spare.

There are no 6.1 or 6.2mm 10 speed chains made anymore. Campy changed to 5.9mm back in 2007.
About the master links, KMC makes a special version for the Campy UN chain. Othere that fit, with the proper side clearance are the SRAM 10 powerloc and the superlink model 4. The superlink model 3 is a little wider across the inside, to fit Shimano, KMC or Wipperman chains.
The current Wipper connex link should be a sloppy fit on a Campy or SRAM 10 chain. To be sure, check the side clearance with a feeler gage - .004-.008 inch is ideal and .012 tolerable. .016 is too sloppy.

Check out Ribble for low prices. The freight is steep at $32, so large orders are wise.

The last few orders I have made from Ribble seem to have dispensed with the flat 20GBP shipping rate. The shipping costs are now calculated automatically when you place the order. The costs for my orders were in the $5-15 range, so ordering from Ribble is often cheaper than ordering from the places which offer free shipping. I don't know if this was a limited time winter sale thing, but it seemed to start when they changed their web site, so it will probably be the norm for now.
