Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Well, Lance's foundation spends 23% of everything it earns on "Fundraising." (As opposed to 2.6% for the National Cancer Coalition."

So - you gave Lance $1, he gave 77 cents to some other organizations. If those organizations spend 23% on fundraising too, then 59 of your cents made it to the needy.

Nachoman. Yes. Did I mention earlier Robertson is a d-bag. Because he's a d-bag.

According to Pat Robertson, 200 years ago the Haitian people somehow collectively sealed a deal with The Devil to get rid of the French. Satan lived up to his end of the bargain, and the French were either driven out or departed (I don't know which). So apparently, now their descendants are paying the price. If that makes any sense (which it doesn't).

What a ****ing d-bag. How a ********** like that has managed to stay in business for all these years is way, way, way, beyond my comprehension.

And I forgive you for call me a *****. Because I believe in forgiveness. But not for that piece of **** Pat Robertson. May he burn in whatever hell he believes in.

Somewhere arround 100,000 people are dead and you all still do not get it. Have a heart this is really serious as thousands more could die without your and my help and and the least is a few bucks to a charity that will help.

I'm pretty good with English. You're pretty bad with memory. Try reading your original post.

You're original post had zero to do with encouraging others to donate. It was just a fan boy post, crediting Armstrong (not Livestrong) with donating money to Haitian relief. BTW, Livestrong donated nothing to Haitian relief, but rather two organizations that have a presence there, along with many other places across the globe.

Then you tried to say you were doing all this out of concern for Haiti. Which of course is a lie. You couldn't even be bothered to post a link to any direct relief organization.

In all seriousness though, some of the cynicism in this thread surprises me. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I agree with ls01 who said that Haiti will be getting $250,000 that they wouldn't be getting otherwise. Yes, I realize it's not Lance's own personal money. And hopefully I'm not being naive in thinking that those two other organizations will allocate the money responsibly. If the LAF gets some goodwill publicity from their gesture, I'm okay with that. I applaud them for thinking beyond their own particular cause, and recognizing the need for immediate aid to counter the widespread suffering in Haiti. And yes, I'm opening my own wallet too.

As the poster who got the first response to the OP in, I 100% agree with HigherGround. For whatever reason I was feeling feisty yesterday and responded to the original post seeming to be promoting a pro-Lance stance on BF. And as over 1000 threads probably bear out, any stance on Lance gets people to their keyboards.

There are lots of ways that people can be charitable, some of which involve money and others just a little time and effort. It's all good.

Matthew 6: 1-4:

1Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

I hope those Haitians read this thread. They'll probably throw that $250,000 right back in Lance's face for trying to get some publicity out of the situation.

The LIVEstrong foundation MORON! Seriously do you have a clue. It's my mind and since you cannot read it let me set you straight. MY (note the word "MY") original post was to bring to the attention of the readers, Lance Armstrongs contribution to the relief fund in Haiti. Whether it be him directly, or his foundation. To me they are one in the same. That you as a hater, want to spin my reason in another direction is, to say the least is a bit strange. Now as to your FAN BOY and LIAR comments directed towards me. Never type something you wouldn't say to someones face. It makes you look like a little girl. Since you would not say either one of those things, best just to move on to your own post, least you look dumber than you already do. Take your sister Botto with you!!
