22 miles this morning. At mile 15 I stopped for photos, and couldn't get going again. I had an 18.99 avg but the last 7 miles dropped it to just over 17. The mole hills I usually fly over at 18 I could barely get up at 9.5. It was weird.

Hey Pcaders, some road nazi's waved to me the other day. What does that mean? Should I be concerned? Has a new law been passed? Did road nazi's suddenly grow a conscience, or suddenly become freds?

While in Temecula (Land of Landis) yesterday, my car companions (9 year old Michaela and her friend Elyese) and I passed a fully kitted, skinny roadie at the base of a climb. Before we passed him I watched him do a track stand at an intersection. We zoomed up the hill, but then had to turn around because of a route miscalculation (9 year olds don't know beans about giving directions). As I began the descent, the roadie passed by on his way up. I couldn't help myself and commented to the girls how good of a climber he was while gesturing toward the roadie, who acknowledged the attention by craning his neck as we passed.
Why can't I just drive and ignore cyclists like everyone else?

i used to shout encouragment but they always replied with the finger or something offensive. they can't hear you and all they see and hear is a car with someone yelling at them like a typical driver.

Parked at the base of Route 106 and rode up the 3 mile hill into Harriman for that TT, figured it would be a good warm-up. So I get all the way to the top of the ridge to the Lake Welch parking lot and....oops, no TT. Some Freds there told me it was at the Lake Sebago parking lot (about 5 miles away). So I did a little mini-TT, got there in the nick of time to register, cue up and do my race. Felt pretty good too. I'll download the Powertap file soon and try to figure out what my time was (they'll probably post results tonight or tomorrow on the CRCA website). Really enjoyed that race.
I do love riding my TT bike, particularly in a race.
I'm not doing so great when it comes to showing up at the right place for races this season. I'm getting senile.

I thought that perfect game that the ump blew the call on the other day had a better turnout than any ordinary perfect game. Call it baseball's first Imperfect Game, a real glowing testament to human frailty and grace under pressure all the way around.
I liked that. Leave it alone. Teach the lessons from that episode in school and sports for 100 years.

DFL +1 in the 50+. God I do suck at this sport. Still, only three of the cannibal guys (no TT bikes) were faster than me, which shows you how much an advantage the TT bike was on this course. The downhills were very fast indeed. If the distance on the course map are remotely accurate, my average speed had to be close to 24 mph, a record for yours truly.
Like I said, I suck at this. But I do enjoy riding the TT bike. And I don't know why.

Pcad, you need to get with it. As a young'un in the Masters 50+ category, you are supposed to beat up on all those old 56 year olds.
