yeah, a bit... surprised me more than anything else as I was taking it pretty straight (I know they can be real slippery).

Could've been worse, fell on the wood then slid onto the asphalt, could've fell on the asphalt, right? So, bruising all along the right side my body, where my keys are got me pretty good on my lower right back, and some knee/elbows scrapes. Just got up and kept going, albeit slowly at first. Still had 10 miles to go and didn't want to sit around getting all tight.

Achy now, but will be fine. Where's those beers for my tired/ache recovery?? ;)

Correct.

let me summarise. Tsuru falls and carries on 10 miles to finish. pcad falls and is mumbling jibberish to the ambulence crew.

it's actually this thread. there was a period i didn't bother checking this useless thread for about a week and during that time everyone had accidents but only pcad cried about it. not that long ago i think.

Why are you all just talking about Greece?

Yeah. Remember, not so long ago, everyone was talking about how the Euro was going to supplant the Dollar as the world currency? Now, no so much.

*EDIT: this was RE: Greece

Who cares.... I'm moving back to my wife's motherland ASAP. VIVA CANADA! Hell, I think the CAD is out pacing the USD these days or close to it! Speaking of.... you want a real race??? They should do a Tour of Canada, you can even call it Tour de Canada (legally, you have to call it both). F*** YEAH! Alberta's mountains, maybe some TTs in Vancouver and Toronto, two words....

Great scenery, but are the climbs really "epic"?

Yeah. I'm sure they could find one or two.

Velo Vol 05-31-10 03:33 PM

I didn't remember the climbs (on the main roads) being as long or as steep as many in the US or Europe.

It's been a long time since I've been there, though.

What did you ever do to them?

patentcad 05-31-10 05:44 PM

How can I ever live up to my BF Legend if any of you should meet me in person?

It's a problem.

I went down twice on the mtb 2 days ago very similar to you (once on a wood bridge) I tried to figure out a way of posting the picture of the very purple bruise I now have, But there really wasn't any way of getting in focus with how close I had to take it and not show off other areas of my body I would rather not have others see.

mz, that will look cool built up, but it looks like a death trap to me.

Pcad, will we be seeing you in person soon? All your nyack / NYC buddies don't seem to mind you so much in real life.

rjones28 05-31-10 06:42 PM

Now that's scary.

In other news: the big thunder storms have rolled in. Fortunately, we had a warm and sunny M-day weekend. Good riding weather.

patentcad 05-31-10 07:00 PM

Just watched Jeff Bridges/Colin Farrell/Maggie Gyllenhaal/Robert Duvall in 'Crazy Heart'.

OUTstanding.

But then I am a country music fan.
